Story Transcript:

Pl: Niekoniecznie to wiedział, ale Krzysztof, młody informatyk z Warszawy, miał mieć naprawdę dziwny dzień. Wyrwał się z nudnej pętli codzienności, by wybrać się na spacer po jego ulubionym mieście, Warszawie.
En: He may not have known it, but Krzysztof, a young computer scientist from Warsaw, was about to have a truly strange day. He broke free from the monotonous routine to take a walk in his favorite city, Warsaw.

Pl: W tych godzinach, miasto tętniło życiem. Ludzie śpieszyli się do swoich pracy, tramwaje jechały z gwarem, spośród tłumu dobiegał gwar rozmów. Krzysztof lubił ten ruch. To było dla niego miasto pełne energii.
En: During these hours, the city was pulsing with life. People rushed to their jobs, trams passed with noise, and a hum of conversations filled the air. Krzysztof liked this hustle and bustle. It was a city full of energy for him.

Pl: Podążając przez ulice, minął Royal Castle, gdzie zawsze kręciło się mnóstwo turystów. Zdecydował, że zrobi kilka zdjęć, aby pokazać kolegom z pracy. Monitor komputera w biurze zaczynał mu się nudzić, więc myślał, że kilka nowych tapet z Warszawy by się przydało.
En: As he walked through the streets, he passed by the Royal Castle, where there were always crowds of tourists. He decided to take a few photos to show his coworkers. The computer screen in his office was getting boring, so he thought a few new wallpapers of Warsaw would be useful.

Pl: Podszedł do jednego z posągów stojących obok zamku. Odwrócił swojego smartfona do siebie, zrobił minę i... click! Na ekranie pojawiło się jego zdjęcie z posągiem. Krzysztof roześmiał się, mysleć, że zrobił selfie z... przyjacielem. To było naprawdę zabawne, bo jego przyjaciele byli bardzo wysocy, szczupli i zawsze wyglądali "kamiennie" w obliczu kłopotów. Tak jak ten posąg.
En: He approached one of the statues standing next to the castle. He turned his smartphone towards himself, made a face, and... click! His photo with the statue appeared on the screen. Krzysztof laughed, thinking that he had taken a selfie with... a friend. It was truly funny because his friends were very tall, slim, and always looked "stone-like" in the face of troubles. Just like that statue.

Pl: Krzysztof wrzucił zdjęcie na Instagrama. Opisał je jak "Selfie z kamieniutkim kolegą". Jego przyjaciele szybko zaczęli lać lajkami i komentarzami. Jest na świecie wiele osób, które mogą pomylić posąg z człowiekiem. Krzysztof był jednym z nich. Ale dzięki temu, dostał się na listę najtrafniejszych postów dnia.
En: Krzysztof uploaded the photo to Instagram. He described it as "Selfie with a stone-like friend." His friends quickly started liking and commenting. There are many people in the world who can mistake a statue for a person. Krzysztof was one of them. But thanks to this, his post made it to the list of the most accurate posts of the day.

Pl: Ten mały incydent skłonił go do refleksji. Żeby docenić prawdziwych ludzi, z ich skomplikowanym, żywym wnętrzem, musiał najpierw doświadczyć, jak jest robić selfie z posągiem. Ale najważniejsze, że śmiech, który rozbrzmiał w sercach jego przyjaciół, rozjaśniał jego dzień.
En: This little incident led him to reflect. In order to appreciate real people, with their complex, lively interior, he had to first experience what it's like to take a selfie with a statue. But most importantly, the laughter that resonated in the hearts of his friends brightened his day.

Pl: I tak, Krzysztof wrócił do domu z uśmiechem... i z nową tapetą na komputerze. Funkcjonował na nowo, w biurze pełnym realnych kolegów z krwi i kości, choć trochę bardziej 'kamiennych' niż zwykle. Bez tego selfie z posągiem, może nigdy by nie zdobył się na tak głębokie przemyślenia. Na końcu jednak, był wdzięczny za ten dzień. Był to naprawdę bardzo, bardzo prosty, ale bardzo ważny dzień.
En: And so, Krzysztof returned home with a smile... and a new wallpaper on his computer. He functioned again, in an office full of real friends made of flesh and blood, although a bit more "stone-like" than usual. Without that selfie with the statue, he might never have had such deep reflections. In the end, however, he was grateful for that day. It was truly a very, very simple but very important day.
