Story Transcript:

Sv: Erik hade en dröm.
En: Erik had a dream.

Sv: En dröm om att bygga.
En: A dream to build.

Sv: Han satt i sitt röda trähus vid torget, skrattade med sina vänner Astrid och Ingrid.
En: He sat in his red wooden house by the square, laughing with his friends Astrid and Ingrid.

Sv: Men allt var inte roligt.
En: But everything wasn't fun.

Sv: För på golvet låg IKEA-lådor, överallt.
En: Because on the floor were IKEA boxes, everywhere.

Sv: De kändes som berg.
En: They felt like mountains.

Sv: De skremde.
En: They were intimidating.

Sv: "Vi kan göra det" sa Astrid.
En: "We can do it," said Astrid.

Sv: Hon lyfte upp en skruv.
En: She lifted a screw.

Sv: "Ja, vi kan" ekade Ingrid.
En: "Yes, we can," echoed Ingrid.

Sv: Hon tog en hammare.
En: She grabbed a hammer.

Sv: Erik tittade på dem.
En: Erik looked at them.

Sv: "Ok" sa han.
En: "Okay," he said.

Sv: Så de började.
En: So they started.

Sv: Erik med en bordsskiva.
En: Erik with a tabletop.

Sv: Astrid med en skruv.
En: Astrid with a screw.

Sv: Ingrid med hennes hammare.
En: Ingrid with her hammer.

Sv: Men IKEA-lådorna var fyllda med kuber, kub efter kub.
En: But the IKEA boxes were filled with cubes, cube after cube.

Sv: Erik satt på golvet.
En: Erik sat on the floor.

Sv: Han visste inte vart alla kuber skulle vara.
En: He didn't know where all the cubes were supposed to go.

Sv: "Det är svårt" sa han.
En: "This is hard," he said.

Sv: Astrid nickade.
En: Astrid nodded.

Sv: Ingrid suckade.
En: Ingrid sighed.

Sv: "Vi bor i Stockholm, i Sverige" sa Astrid.
En: "We live in Stockholm, in Sweden," said Astrid.

Sv: "IKEA är från Sverige.
En: "IKEA is from Sweden.

Sv: Vi kan göra det.
En: We can do this."

Sv: "Så de försökte igen.
En: So they tried again.

Sv: De arbetade hela dagen.
En: They worked all day.

Sv: De arbetade hela natten.
En: They worked all night.

Sv: De byggde och byggde.
En: They built and built.

Sv: Men vissa delar passade inte.
En: But some parts didn't fit.

Sv: Vissa delar saknades.
En: Some parts were missing.

Sv: "Det här är knasigt" sa Ingrid.
En: "This is crazy," said Ingrid.

Sv: "Vi vet inte vad vi gör.
En: "We don't know what we're doing.

Sv: Vi har ingen hjälp.
En: We have no help."

Sv: "Erik var ledsen.
En: Erik was sad.

Sv: Han tittade på sina vänner.
En: He looked at his friends.

Sv: "Vi behöver hitta en way" sa han.
En: "We need to find a way," he said.

Sv: Ingrid tog upp sin telefon.
En: Ingrid picked up her phone.

Sv: "Jag vet någon som kan hjälpa.
En: "I know someone who can help."

Sv: "De ringde hennes mamma.
En: They called her mom.

Sv: Hennes mamma hade varit i IKEA många gånger.
En: Her mom had been to IKEA many times.

Sv: Hon kunde hjälpa.
En: She could help.

Sv: "Mam, vi har ett problem," sa Ingrid.
En: "Mom, we have a problem," said Ingrid.

Sv: "Vi försöker bygga IKEA-möbler men har inga instruktioner.
En: "We're trying to build IKEA furniture but we have no instructions."

Sv: ""Åh, ni stackars!
En: "Oh, you poor things!"

Sv: " sa mamman.
En: said the mother.

Sv: Hon skrattade och gav råd.
En: She laughed and gave advice.

Sv: "Ni måste tänka som IKEA.
En: "You have to think like IKEA."

Sv: " "Som IKEA?
En: "Like IKEA?"

Sv: " frågade Erik.
En: asked Erik.

Sv: "Ja, se på delarna.
En: "Yes, look at the parts.

Sv: Vad ser de ut som?
En: What do they look like?

Sv: Var ska de vara?
En: Where are they supposed to go?"

Sv: " sa mamman.
En: said the mother.

Sv: Så de tittade.
En: So they looked.

Sv: De tänkte.
En: They thought.

Sv: De byggade.
En: They built.

Sv: Och snart, möblerna började ta form.
En: And soon, the furniture started to take shape.

Sv: "Vi gör det!
En: "We did it!"

Sv: " skrek Astrid.
En: shouted Astrid.

Sv: "Vi bygger!
En: "We built it!"

Sv: " I slutet av dagen stod möblerna där.
En: By the end of the day, the furniture stood there.

Sv: De log mot Erik, Astrid och Ingrid.
En: They smiled at Erik, Astrid, and Ingrid.

Sv: De hade gjort det.
En: They had done it.

Sv: De hade byggt IKEA-möbler utan instruktioner.
En: They had built IKEA furniture without instructions.

Sv: Allt för att de hade pratat, tänkt och arbetat tillsammans.
En: All because they had talked, thought, and worked together.

Sv: Erik tittade på sina vänner.
En: Erik looked at his friends.

Sv: "Vi kan bygga vad som helst" sa han.
En: "We can build anything," he said.

Sv: Och de skrattade alla tre, tillsammans, i det röda huset vid torget, med IKEA-möbler omkring dem.
En: And they all laughed together, in the red house by the square, with IKEA furniture around them.

Sv: Det var inte lätt, men de hade klarat det.
En: It wasn't easy, but they had made it.

Sv: Tillsammans.
En: Together.
