Ca: Montserrat va mirar per la finestra del cotxe mentre la neu cobria el paisatge.
En: Montserrat gazed out the car window as the snow covered the landscape.

Ca: Els pics dels Pirineus brillaven sota el sol d'hivern.
En: The peaks of the Pirineus shone under the winter sun.

Ca: Jordi conduïa amb cura per les carreteres estretes i gelades.
En: Jordi drove cautiously across the narrow and icy roads.

Ca: Núria, asseguda al seient del darrere, llegia una guia de folklore català.
En: Núria, seated in the back seat, was reading a guide of Catalan folklore.

Ca: "Sabíeu que una vegada hi va haver un poble aquí que va desaparèixer?" va començar Montserrat, amb els ulls brillants d'emoció.

Ca: Núria es va inclinar cap endavant amb interès. "Què va passar amb la gent?"

Ca: "Això és el que vull descobrir," va dir Montserrat amb determinació.

Ca: Va treure un mapa vell, ple de marques.
En: She pulled out an old map, full of marks.

Ca: El viatge va continuar mentre endinsaven per valls amagades i solitàries.
