Uk: На грязній дорозі, вкритій сірим снігом, з тротуарів стіляються потоки талого льоду.
En: On the dirty road covered with gray snow, streams of melting ice flow from the sidewalks.

Uk: Вітри вдаряють зимовими ударами по багряних трояндах на вітринах.
En: Winds hit with wintry blows against the scarlet roses in the shop windows.

Uk: Зима в Києві – це завжди випробування для всіх, але для Оксани ця зима стала ще важчою.
En: Winter in Kyiv is always a test for everyone, but for Oksana, this winter had become even harder.

Uk: На підході День Святого Валентина, і вона мала один план: організувати родинну вечерю, яка б не закінчилася суперечками.
En: Valentine's Day was approaching, and she had one plan: to organize a family dinner that would not end in arguments.

Uk: Оксана заходить до переповненого супермаркету.
En: Oksana enters the crowded supermarket.

Uk: Весь магазин прикрашений серцями та рожевими стрічками.
En: The entire store is decorated with hearts and pink ribbons.

En: They always had a complicated relationship, but today was meant to be an exception.

Uk: Михайло вже там, біля стелажу з макаронами, доповнюючи список покупок на телефоні.
En: Mykhailo was already there, by the pasta shelf, completing the shopping list on his phone.

Uk: "Привіт, сестро", – каже він, трохи натягуючи вуличну шапку на вуха.
En: "Hello, sister," he says, tugging his street hat a little lower over his ears.

Uk: "Привіт, Михайле.
En: "Hello, Mykhailo.

Uk: Як справи?
En: How are you?"

Uk: " – Оксана посміхається, намагаючись не показувати хвилювання.
En: – Oksana smiles, trying not to show her anxiety.

Uk: Вони почали ходити між стелажами, обираючи все необхідне для великих вечер.
En: They started walking between the shelves, choosing everything necessary for the big dinner.

Uk: Картопля, буряки, соуси – усе складалося в візок, жваво підстрибуючи на колесах.
En: Potatoes, beets, sauces – all went into the cart, bouncing lively on the wheels.

Uk: Але, як і завжди, все почало йти не так, коли вони зупинилися біля морозильного відділу.
En: But as always, everything began to go wrong when they stopped near the freezer section.

Uk: "Давай візьмемо курку, це буде ідеально для вареників", – наполягла Оксана.
En: "Let's get chicken, it will be perfect for dumplings," insisted Oksana.

Uk: "Ні, м'ясо краще.
En: "No, beef is better.

Uk: Та й хто ще їсть курку?
En: And who even eats chicken?"

Uk: " – заперечив Михайло, дивлячись на стейкові упаковки.
En: Mykhailo objected, looking at the steak packages.

Uk: Слова обох залунали голосніше.
En: Their words grew louder.

Uk: Їхня бесіда стала схожа на штурм зимового вітру, холодного й поривчастого.
En: Their conversation became like a stormy winter wind, cold and gusty.

Uk: Люди почали поглядати в їхній бік з-за полиць, але Оксана згадала свою мету.
En: People began to glance their way from between the shelves, but Oksana remembered her goal.

Uk: Вона глибоко зітхнула, пригадуючи, що важливіше – це сімейний затишок.
En: She took a deep breath, recalling that what was more important was family comfort.

Uk: "Добре, спробуємо знайти компроміс.
En: "Alright, let's try to find a compromise.

Uk: Візьмемо і курку, і м'ясо.
En: We'll take both chicken and beef.

Uk: Ми можемо приготувати обидва страви", – сказала вона, м'яко усміхаючись.
En: We can make both dishes," she said, smiling gently.

Uk: Михайло на мить задумався, потім кивнув.
En: Mykhailo paused for a moment, then nodded.

Uk: "Добре, ти маєш рацію.
En: "You're right.

Uk: Справа не в їжі.
En: It's not about the food."

Uk: "Підсумок спільного шопінгу виявився не менш захопливим.
En: The outcome of their joint shopping turned out to be no less thrilling.

Uk: Як тільки вони вийшли з магазину, на них обох ніжно хлинуло січневе повітря.
En: As soon as they exited the store, the January air gently enveloped both of them.

Uk: Михайло більше не тягнув обличчя, а Оксана почувала себе спокійніше.
En: Mykhailo was no longer sulking, and Oksana felt more at ease.

Uk: Вони зрозуміли, що для гармонії у родині непотрібно багато.
En: They realized that it doesn't take much for harmony in the family.

En: Sometimes, it’s enough to simply listen to each other.

En: They walked slowly, preparing for the evening.

Uk: І, хоча зовні все ще панувала зима, Оксана знала, що всередині їхньої сім’ї поволі насувається весна.
En: And although winter still reigned outside, Oksana knew that spring was slowly approaching within their family.
