Story Transcript:

En: Lars hurried along the platform at Copenhagen Central Station.

En: He only had a few minutes left before the train would depart.

Da: Han vidste godt, at han skulle have været afsted lidt tidligere, men morgenen havde bare været så kaotisk.
En: He knew he should have left a little earlier, but the morning had just been so chaotic.

En: On his way to his track, he could hear the train whistle in the distance.

En: He panicked and started running.

En: He didn't get a proper look at himself, and before he knew it, he bumped into a young woman named Sofie.

En: They both lost their balance and stumbled around before finally falling to the ground - in a somewhat comical way.

En: It created a great commotion on the platform.

En: The people around couldn't help but burst into fits of laughter.

En: Lars felt quite embarrassed, but his shame was quickly replaced by laughter.

En: He couldn't help but laugh along with them.

En: Sofie, on the other hand, became more and more irritated.

En: "Well why are we both so clumsy?"

En: laughed Lars and tried to help Sofie back to her feet.

En: Sofie looked at him with a slightly annoyed smile.

En: "Maybe because we're both more busy catching our trains than looking after each other," she said, accepting his help.

En: They hurried to their feet, and Lars could see that his train would leave in a few seconds.

En: "Sorry, I have to run on," he said, smiling apologetically at Sofie before sprinting off towards the train.

En: Sofie called after him, "I hope you make it!"

Da: og så forsvandt Lars om hjørnet.
En: and then Lars disappeared around the corner.

En: Sofie stood alone on the platform and stared into the air.

Da: Hun kunne stadigvæk høre folks latter i baggrunden.
En: She could still hear people's laughter in the background.

Da: Hun begyndte også at smile.
En: She started to smile too.

En: It was a fun and unforgettable experience.

En: Although she didn't get to say goodbye to Lars, she really hoped he caught his train.

En: As the days passed, Sofie slowly forgot about the episode with Lars.

En: But then one day, sitting at the same train station waiting for her train, she couldn't stop thinking about him.

En: She wondered how he must be feeling at this time of day.

En: If he was in a place where people could make him laugh too.

En: Just as she was about to fall into her thoughts, Lars suddenly stood right in front of her with a big smile.

Da: "Undskyld, hvis jeg forstyrrer.
En: "Sorry to disturb you.

En: But I happened to be on the same train as you today.

Da: Må jeg sætte mig her?"
En: May I sit here?"

Da: Sofie blev overrasket og glad.
En: Sofie was surprised and happy.

Da: "Selvfølgelig!"
En: "Of course!"

En: she replied and moved her bag a little so that Lars could sit next to her.

Da: De begyndte at snakke om alt muligt.
En: They started talking about everything.

En: They laughed about the day they bumped into each other and fell on the platform.

En: Lars explained that he actually made it to his train that day and thanked Sofie for helping him get up.

En: The train ride flew by and the two discovered they had a lot in common.

En: When they reached their destination, they still had plenty to talk about.

En: "So, maybe we could meet another day?"

En: asked Lars, looking at Sofie with a hopeful smile.

En: Sofie nodded and replied with a big smile: "Yes, we actually could.

Da: Jeg tror, det kunne blive sjovt."
En: I think it could be fun."

En: And then they went their separate ways, but this time with joy in their hearts and a new exciting beginning ahead.
