En: It had a living room with an old stove in the corner.

En: There stood a worn-out armchair and a table in the middle of the room.

Da: På væggene hang billeder af deres familie.
En: On the walls hung pictures of their family.

En: There were pictures from their summer vacations, birthdays, and Christmas Eves.

Da: Et bestemt billede fik ham til at standse op.
En: One particular picture made him stop.

En: It showed Lars, Mette, and Anders as children, standing together in front of the cabin with big smiles.

En: It struck him how important family was.

En: Lars knew he had to take the first step.

En: He considered whether he should invite them to the cabin or write a letter.

En: He wrote about how much they meant to him and how much he wanted to be with them again.

En: It was hard to find the right words, but he wrote from the heart.

En: When the letter was finished, he put it in an envelope.

En: He added an invitation to come to the cabin for a cup of coffee and a conversation.

Da: Han håbede, at de ville komme.
En: He hoped they would come.

En: As he got up from the table, Lars felt different.

Da: Han havde taget ansvaret for sin del af skænderiet.
En: He had taken responsibility for his part of the argument.

En: His pride was less important than his love for Mette and Anders.

En: Now he waited eagerly for their reply.

Da: Den stille hytten fyldtes med håb, og Lars kunne næsten mærke forårssolen varme hans sjæl.
En: The quiet cabin was filled with hope, and Lars could almost feel the spring sun warming his soul.
