Da: Lars kiggede ud af vinduet.
En: Lars looked out the window.

Da: Sneen dalede stille i København.
En: The snow fell quietly in København.

Da: Vintermørket lagde sig som et tæppe over byen.
En: The winter darkness laid itself like a blanket over the city.

Da: Han følte en længsel.
En: He felt a longing.

Da: Ikke efter sommer, men efter Mette.
En: Not for summer, but for Mette.

Da: Hun befandt sig i Sydney, midt i sol og varme.
En: She was in Sydney, amidst the sun and warmth.

Da: For længe siden havde de besluttet at holde jul sammen.
En: Long ago, they had decided to spend Christmas together.

Da: Lars havde en hemmelig plan.
En: Lars had a secret plan.

Da: Han ville fri til Mette.
En: He wanted to propose to Mette.

Da: Men han var nervøs.
En: But he was nervous.

En: But he wanted to surprise Mette.

En: Christmas was just around the corner.

En: Sydney sparkled with Christmas lights.

Da: Julelysene reflekterede i vandet.
En: The Christmas lights reflected in the water.

Da: Han tog en dyb indånding, gik ned på knæ, og åbnede en lille æske.
En: He took a deep breath, got down on one knee, and opened a small box.

Da: "Mette, vil du gifte dig med mig?"
En: "Mette, will you marry me?"

Da: Mette kiggede på Lars, tårer i øjnene.
En: Mette looked at Lars, tears in her eyes.

Da: Hun forstod nu dybden af hans følelser.
En: She now understood the depth of his feelings.

Da: "Ja," svarede hun.
En: "Yes," she replied.

Da: "Jeg vil være sammen med dig."
En: "I want to be with you."

Da: Tilbage i Danmark føltes vintervinde pludselig varme.
En: Back in Danmark, the winter winds suddenly felt warm.

Da: Lars vidste, at Mette ville komme hjem inden næste jul.
En: Lars knew that Mette would be home before next Christmas.

Da: Deres fremtid var sikker nu, trods de mange kilometer, de tidligere befandt sig imellem.
En: Their future was certain now, despite the many miles that had once been between them.
