Da: Astrid var ny i nabolaget.
En: Astrid was new to the neighborhood.

Da: Hun havde lige flyttet ind i et lille hus på en stille gade.
En: She had just moved into a small house on a quiet street.

Da: Husene her lignede hinanden med deres røde tage og hvide vægge.
En: The houses here looked alike with their red roofs and white walls.

Da: Det var sommer, og solen skinnede varmt ned på de grønne plæner.
En: It was summer, and the sun shone warmly down on the green lawns.

Da: En eftermiddag gik Astrid en tur for at tjekke sin postkasse.
En: One afternoon, Astrid went to check her mailbox.

Da: Hun fandt et kryptisk brev.
En: She found a cryptic letter.

Da: Der stod kun: "Følg lyset, men vær forsigtig."
En: It only said: "Follow the light, but be careful."
