Story Transcript:

En: It was a cold winter day, and the snow lay like a soft blanket over København.

En: Christiansborg Slot stood majestically in the middle of the city, and inside the castle's warm corridors, lanterns flickered, casting a gentle light on the old walls.

En: Astrid stood in the castle with her class.

En: It was a classic Christmas outing, but for Astrid, it was more than that.

En: It was a chance to find an inspiring story for the school's Christmas storytelling competition.

Da: Astrid elskede historier.
En: Astrid loved stories.

Da: Hun havde altid gjort det.
En: She always had.

En: The tales of kings, queens, brave heroes, and mysteries from the past ignited a spark in her that not many understood.

En: "Why are you so obsessed with the old days?"

En: asked Magnus, one of her classmates, rolling his eyes.

Da: "Det er kedeligt!"
En: "It's boring!"

En: Freja, who walked beside them, nodded.

En: "Yes, we'd rather go shopping after school," she said.

En: Astrid wanted to shake off the criticism.

En: She took a deep breath and followed her inner conviction.

En: As they walked through the grand halls, Astrid couldn't ignore the feeling that something awaited her.

En: With her heart pounding, she chose to step away from the group for a moment.

En: She snuck into the palace's library, a place often overlooked on trips like these.

Da: Rummet var stille.
En: The room was quiet.

En: In the dim light, she discovered an ancient journal covered with dust.

En: It belonged to a young scribe from the royal court.

En: The journal was like a treasure chest filled with Christmas stories, describing festive traditions from old times—as if the writer himself was speaking to her from the past.

En: With each written word, she was drawn into a world where Christmas Eve was celebrated with adventure, mystique, and warmth.

En: Astrid knew now that this would be her story.

En: When she returned to the teacher and the class, her eyes shone with enthusiasm.

Da: De næste par dage brugte hun på at finpudse sin fortælling.
En: She spent the next few days refining her story.

Da: Julekonkurrencedagen kom hurtigt.
En: The day of the Christmas competition came quickly.

Da: Alle eleverne sad spændt, og mange sukkede, da Astrid trådte frem for at fortælle sin historie.
En: All the students sat eagerly, and many sighed as Astrid stepped forward to tell her story.

En: But as she began to tell about the young scribe and his Christmas adventures, the mood changed.

En: She described with vivid details how the scribe's Christmas Eve had been filled with traditions and love.

En: Astrid's voice enchanted, and when she finished, a respectful silence hung in the room.

Da: Selv Magnus og Freja var overraskede.
En: Even Magnus and Freja were surprised.

En: Astrid not only won the competition but also achieved something far more important—a newfound confidence and an understanding of how strong her passion could be.

En: Stories had power—they brought people together, just as her Christmas tale had done.

En: The castle's secrets and wisdom had shared their magic with her, and Astrid knew that she would never tire of searching for more hidden stories.
