Story Transcript:

Ja: 春の午後、上野公園は一面に桜が咲き誇り、華やかな景色に包まれていました。
En: On a spring afternoon, Ueno Park was enveloped in a splendid scene with cherry blossoms in full bloom all around.

Ja: 空は青く澄み、ときおりそよ風が木々を揺らします。
En: The sky was blue and clear, and now and then a gentle breeze swayed the trees.

Ja: ハルカは弟のケンタと一緒に公園にやってきました。
En: Haruka came to the park with her younger brother Kenta.

Ja: 彼女は大学生で、将来の進路に悩んでいました。
En: She was a university student and troubled about her future path.

Ja: 親が勧める安定した道か、自分の好きなことを選ぶのか、決めるのが難しいのです。
En: It was difficult for her to decide whether to choose the stable path recommended by her parents or to pursue what she loved.

Ja: ケンタは無邪気そうに見えましたが、よく周りを見ているようです。
En: Kenta seemed innocent, yet he appeared to be observant.

Ja: 彼はまだ小学生で、将来のことなど考えてはいません。
En: He was still an elementary school student and wasn't thinking about his future.

Ja: 二人は桜の下に腰をおろし、お弁当を広げました。
En: The two sat down under the cherry blossoms and spread out their obento.

Ja: 「ハルカ姉ちゃん、なんでそんなに悩んでるの？」ケンタが問いかけました。
En: "Haruka neechan, why are you so troubled?" Kenta asked.

Ja: ハルカは少し驚きましたが、素直に答えます。
En: Haruka was a bit surprised but answered honestly.

Ja: 「将来のことを考えると、どうすればいいかわからないの。」
En: "When I think about the future, I don't know what to do."

Ja: 「でも、楽しいことをすればいいんじゃない？」ケンタはあっけらかんと答えました。
En: "But shouldn't you just do what makes you happy?" Kenta replied nonchalantly.

Ja: ハルカはしばらく言葉を失いました。
En: Haruka was at a loss for words for a moment.

Ja: 今まで考えなかった単純な言葉が、彼女の心に深く響きました。
En: The simple words she'd never considered before resonated deeply in her heart.

Ja: 桜の花びらが一枚、ハルカの手のひらにひらりと舞い降りました。
En: A cherry blossom petal fluttered down gently into her palm.

Ja: 「楽しいこと…」そう呟くと、彼女はようやく微笑みました。
En: "Something fun..." she whispered, and finally, a smile appeared on her face.

Ja: 彼女は自分が本当にやりたかったことを思い出しました。それは絵を描くことです。
En: She remembered what she truly wanted to do, which was to paint.

Ja: 絵を描くのは彼女の心を落ち着かせ、何よりも楽しいものでした。
En: Drawing was something that calmed her spirit and was ultimately enjoyable.

Ja: 「よし、決めたよ。私は、私の好きなことを追うことにする。」
En: "Alright, I've decided. I'm going to pursue what I love."

Ja: ケンタは嬉しそうに頷きました。
En: Kenta nodded happily.

Ja: 「そうだね。好きなことが一番だよ。」
En: "That's right. Doing what you love is the most important."

Ja: ハルカは心が晴れ渡ったように感じ、軽やかな気持ちで桜を見上げました。
En: Haruka felt as if her heart had cleared up, and with a light feeling, she looked up at the cherry blossoms.

Ja: 桜の花びらは、彼女の新しい決意を応援するかのように風に乗って舞い踊っていました。
En: The petals danced in the wind, as if cheering on her new resolution.

Ja: 夕方になり、上野公園にはたくさんの笑顔が広がっていました。
En: As evening arrived, Ueno Park was filled with many smiling faces.

Ja: ハルカはその中で新しい一歩を踏み出すことに決めました。
En: Amidst it all, Haruka decided to take a new step forward.

Ja: そして、ケンタのおかげで気づいた大切なことを心に刻みつけました。
En: She etched in her heart the important realization she discovered thanks to Kenta.

Ja: 彼女はこれから、自分の道を信じて進めるようになりました。
En: From now on, she would be able to advance with faith in her own path.
