Story Transcript:

En: Lars stood in the heart of Copenhagen, wearing a magnificent Viking helmet.

En: With his short, red beard and tight leather trousers, he really felt like a modern Viking.

En: But there was one problem - he didn't know the roads in Copenhagen.

En: He had been given a gift by his grandfather, who said the helmet would give him the courage and strength of a true Viking.

Da: Men ingen havde fortalt Lars, at hjelmen også ville forvandle ham til byens største attraktion.
En: But no one had told Lars that the helmet would also transform him into the city's biggest attraction.

Da: Lars vævede ubeslutsomt gennem hudløst moderne cykelsti-labyrinten.
En: Lars weaved indecisively through the skinless modern cycle path maze.

Da: Han forsøgte at finde vej uden at blive mast af hurtige cyklister eller spidse albuer.
En: He tried to find his way without being mauled by fast cyclists or pointed elbows.

En: Despite his helmet, he began to feel more like a helpless sparrow than a fearsome Viking hero.

En: As he tumbled around, Lars had the periphery filled with ridiculously smiling people.

En: They pointed and took pictures of him with their smartphones.

En: Lars was confused - was it the norm in Copenhagen to walk around with a Viking helmet?

Da: Jo længere ind i labyrinten Lars bevægede sig, desto mere støjende blev folkemængden.
En: The further into the labyrinth Lars moved, the noisier the crowd became.

En: He felt like a sensation-hungry celebrity, but he was just a regular guy trying to find his way.

En: Then Lars heard a flurry of sounds that were very reminiscent of rattling swords.

En: He looked around and spotted a group of cyclists, all wearing helmets of various makes.

En: The cyclists' eyes lit up when they saw Lars.

En: His Viking helmet was a real competitor to their modern protective gear.

Da: En mand i neonfarver kørte tættere på Lars og råbte: "Hvad bilder du dig ind?
En: A man in neon colors drove closer to Lars and shouted: "What are you imagining?

Da: Vi er ægte cyklister her!"
En: We are real cyclists here!"

En: Lars didn't know what to do, but his Viking blood began to quiver in his veins.

Da: "Jeg er Lars, en vikingehelt!"
En: "I'm Lars, a Viking hero!"

Da: råbte han tilbage.
En: he shouted back.

Da: "Jeg er her for at erobre København på min cykel!"
En: "I'm here to conquer Copenhagen on my bike!"

En: The other cyclists laughed and clapped, and suddenly Lars could see that they were not enemies, but like-minded people.

En: They were all just people who wanted to have fun and enjoy life.

En: Together they cycled through the streets of Copenhagen, as confusing as ever.

En: But this time they had fun, doing Indian bursts while ringing their bells.

En: As the sun set, Lars found himself in front of an old Viking castle.

En: He raised his helmet and shouted, "Thanks for a great day, my new friends!

En: Let's conquer Copenhagen again another time!"

Da: Folkemængden kastede deres hænder i vejret og råbte vikingehymner, mens de fejrede deres nye vikingekonge.
En: The crowd threw their hands in the air and shouted Viking hymns as they celebrated their new Viking king.

En: Lars smiled broadly and felt like a real Viking hero.

En: From that day Lars became known as the "Viking Cyclist" throughout Copenhagen.

En: He still navigated his way through the maze of bike paths, but now he did so with a smile on his face and a heart full of adventure.
