In today's episode, I am joined by Syd Wilder. Syd Wilder is an actress, model, writer, and digital influencer. She grew up in Marietta, GA as your average fat kid with high cholesterol and a boy’s haircut. Luckily, puberty hit her like a freight train and a few years later she grew out her hair and traded coasts in favor of Los Angeles.
Syd has carved her own path in the comedy world with her ditzy, dark and devilish sense of humor. She’s written, produced, and starred in original sketches that have amassed over 60 million views across multiple digital platforms such as: Funny or Die, College Humor, and Huffington Post. She has appeared on Tosh.0 (Comedy Central), Men at Work (TBS), and recently the feature film Laid In America released by Universal.
Syd’s modeling has been featured in Maxim, FHM, and Sports Illustrated. She was named Ask Men’s Top 99 Crush List of 2016 and Playboy’s Top 10 Hottest YouTuber’s of 2015. She’s also frequently asked by her family members to post photos wearing more clothing, which she’s actively working on.
She won a Hollywood Comedy Shorts award for her original web series, Fab Life Teresa XO. The same series was also screened at the prestigious Holly Shorts Festival. Syd describes herself as a glamorous goofball who loves to push the envelope with her cynically optimistic comedy. She continues to create online content and original characters for her social platforms. Syd enjoys dancing when she has free time and she will always have a special place in her heart for the awkward fat kid.
