Story Transcript:

Ja: 秋の京都、紅葉が美しい嵐山。
En: In autumn Kyoto, the autumn leaves in Arashiyama are beautiful.

Ja: お寺の鐘の音が静かに響きます。
En: The sound of temple bells gently resonates.

Ja: 今日は、京都にある寄宿学校の生徒が嵐山に遠足にやって来ました。
En: Today, students from a boarding school in Kyoto have come to Arashiyama on a field trip.

Ja: はるきは、自然と写真が大好きな学生です。
En: Haruki is a student who loves nature and photography.

Ja: 彼は学校の友達とは少し距離を感じています。
En: He feels a bit distanced from his school friends.

Ja: 今日、はるきの目的は完璧な紅葉の写真を撮ることです。
En: Today, Haruki's goal is to take the perfect photo of the autumn leaves.

Ja: その写真を学校のアートコンテストに出したいのです。そして、写真を通して友達を作りたいと思っています。
En: He wants to submit this photo to the school's art contest and hopes to make friends through his photography.

Ja: 学校の集合の場で、先生がみんなに注意事項を説明しています。
En: At the school's gathering spot, the teacher explains the rules to everyone.

Ja: 「グループから離れないこと」と先生が言いますが、はるきの心はすでに紅葉に向かっています。
En: "Do not stray from the group," the teacher says, but Haruki's mind is already on the autumn leaves.

Ja: 彼は皆と一緒にある程度の時間を過ごした後、やっと一人になれるタイミングを見つけました。
En: After spending some time with everyone, he finally finds a moment to be alone.

Ja: 「近くで撮ってからすぐ戻るよ」と言って、はるきは少し離れた場所へ向かいました。
En: "I'll take some shots nearby and come right back," he says, and heads to a slightly distant area.

Ja: 彼は竹林を抜け、美しい紅葉が見える場所を見つけます。
En: He passes through a bamboo grove and finds a spot where the beautiful autumn leaves are visible.

Ja: 赤、黄色、オレンジの葉が輝いています。
En: Red, yellow, and orange leaves are shining.

Ja: 完璧な瞬間です。
En: It is the perfect moment.

Ja: 「これだ！」と心で叫びます。
En: "This is it!" he shouts in his mind.

Ja: しかし、空からポツポツ雨が降り始めました。
En: However, raindrops begin to fall from the sky.

Ja: 「まずい、急がなきゃ」彼は急いでカメラの設定を調整します。
En: "Oh no, I need to hurry," he quickly adjusts the settings on his camera.

Ja: 雨はどんどん強くなってきます。
En: The rain gets stronger and stronger.

Ja: けれども彼は気にせず、最後の一枚に集中します。
En: Nevertheless, he remains focused on his last shot.

Ja: 「これが最後のチャンスだ」と自分に言い聞かせました。
En: "This is my last chance," he tells himself.

Ja: カメラに手を置き、シャッターを押します。
En: He places his hand on the camera and presses the shutter.

Ja: パシャ！
En: Click!

Ja: 撮影は終わりましたが、雨はますます激しくなります。
En: The shoot is over, but the rain becomes even heavier.

Ja: 気付くと、はるきのカメラは少し濡れてしまいました。
En: As he realizes it, Haruki's camera has gotten slightly wet.

Ja: 「大丈夫かな…」不安になりながらも、彼は大切な写真を大事に囲いカメラを覆います。
En: "I wonder if it's okay..." he thinks anxiously, but he carefully covers the precious photo and protects his camera.

Ja: その時、さくらとゆきが彼を探しに来ました。
En: At that moment, Sakura and Yuki come looking for him.

Ja: 「はるき、ここにいたんだね！」さくらは笑顔で言いました。
En: "Haruki, so here you are!" Sakura says with a smile.

Ja: 「写真撮ってたの？」ゆきも尋ねます。
En: "Were you taking photos?" Yuki asks.

Ja: はるきは少し照れた様子でうなずきます。
En: Haruki nods, slightly embarrassed.

Ja: そして、さくらとゆきは彼を雨から守りながらグループの元へ戻ります。
En: Then, Sakura and Yuki protect him from the rain as they return to the group.

Ja: バスに乗りながら、さくらがはるきに言います。「写真、見てみたいな！」
En: While riding on the bus, Sakura says to Haruki, "I'd love to see your photos!"

Ja: ゆきも続けて言いました。「コンテストで優勝するかもね！」
En: Yuki adds, "You might win the contest!"

Ja: はるきは心が温かくなりました。
En: Haruki feels a warmth in his heart.

Ja: 友達が自分の興味を理解し、応援してくれることに喜びを感じました。
En: He is delighted that his friends understand and support his interests.

Ja: 嵐山の紅葉だけではなく、彼は心の中でも新しい色を見つけたのです。
En: It wasn't just the autumn leaves of Arashiyama, but in his heart as well, he discovered new colors.

Ja: はるきはひとりじゃない。
En: Haruki isn't alone.

Ja: これからも自信を持って、いろんなことに挑戦していこうと心に決めました。
