Story Transcript:

En: In the quiet psychiatric ward, the spring sun shone through the large windows.

En: The pastel green walls created a calm atmosphere.

En: The flowers outside emitted a mild fragrance that floated in the air.

En: It was Easter, and the world outside was bursting with life and colors.

En: Mikkel and Jonas walked slowly down the hallway.

Da: De skulle besøge Astrid.
En: They were going to visit Astrid.

En: She had been admitted for some time now.

En: Why hadn't he noticed the signs earlier?

En: But today was not the day to dwell on the past.

En: Today was about being there for Astrid.

En: They knocked on the door and stepped inside.

En: Astrid was sitting by the window, looking out.

Da: Hun drejede hovedet mod dem og forsøgte at smile, men hendes øjne afslørede tvivl.
En: She turned her head towards them and tried to smile, but her eyes revealed doubt.

En: She seemed tired of optimistic words that didn't match her feelings.

Da: "Hej Astrid," sagde Mikkel blidt.
En: "Hi Astrid," said Mikkel gently.

Da: "Vi er her for dig."
En: "We're here for you."

Da: Hun nikkede, men sagde ikke noget.
En: She nodded but said nothing.

En: Jonas sat down beside her, took her hand, and squeezed it lovingly.

Da: "Du er ikke alene, søster.
En: "You're not alone, sister.

Da: Vi er her."
En: We're here."

Da: Luften var stille et øjeblik.
En: The air was still for a moment.

Da: En fugl kvidrede udenfor, og solen dansede over gulvet.
En: A bird chirped outside, and the sun danced across the floor.

En: It was now that he needed to open up.

En: He knew it could help, but he was nervous.

En: "Astrid," he finally said, "I've never told you this, but I've had dark days too.

En: It was hard, and I didn't think it would get better.

Da: Men det gør det.
En: But it does.

Da: Ting ændrer sig.
En: Things change.

Da: Vi kan altid finde glæde igen."
En: We can always find joy again."

En: Astrid looked at him with slight wonder.

Da: Hendes øjne blødte op lidt.
En: Her eyes softened a little.

Da: Mikkel smilede og fortsatte.
En: Mikkel smiled and continued.

En: "Do you remember the time we all went to the lake?

Da: Vi løb om kap, og du faldt i vandet.
En: We raced each other, and you fell into the water.

Da: Vi grinede så meget, at vi glemte tiden.
En: We laughed so much that we lost track of time.

Da: Det var en god dag, ikke?"
En: It was a good day, wasn't it?"

Da: Lidt efter gled et smil hen over Astrids ansigt.
En: After a moment, a smile spread across Astrid's face.

Da: "Det var så sjovt," mumlede hun.
En: "That was so fun," she mumbled.

En: It was a small but significant change.

Da: Smilet.
En: The smile.

En: Mikkel and Jonas knew it meant something.

En: Jonas looked at his sister and said, "We can have more days like that.

Da: Vi skal bare støtte hinanden."
En: We just need to support each other."

En: Astrid sighed and replied, "Maybe we can.

Da: Tak, fordi I er her."
En: Thank you for being here."

Da: Mikkel følte lettelsen skylle over ham.
En: Mikkel felt relief wash over him.

Da: Han indså, at hans sårbarhed havde skabt en bro.
En: He realized his vulnerability had built a bridge.

En: Not only between him and Astrid but also between his old guilt and new hope.

En: As they left, he was certain they could find the light together.

En: The world outside continued to bloom, and Mikkel was ready to walk that path, no matter what awaited.

En: He had realized that true strength came from being present, both on good and difficult days.
