Story Transcript:

Ja: 雪がしんしんと降り、住宅街はまるで白い毛布に包まれているよう。
En: The snow was falling silently, and the residential area looked as if it were wrapped in a white blanket.

Ja: クリスマスの飾りが点灯し、街を鮮やかに照らしている。
En: Christmas decorations were lit, vividly illuminating the town.

Ja: ローストされた栗の香りが漂い、クリスマスの曲が風に乗って響く中、
En: The aroma of roasted chestnuts wafted through the air as Christmas songs resonated on the breeze.

Ja: ハルトはため息をついて窓の外を見ていた。
En: In the midst of all this, Harto sighed as he gazed out the window.

Ja: 今日は会社のクリスマスイブの集まり。そこで新しいプロジェクトリーダーが発表される予定だ。
En: Today was the company's Christmas Eve gathering, where the new project leader was set to be announced.

Ja: しかし、ハルトは重なる雪に阻まれ、家から出られない様子。
En: However, Harto seemed unable to leave his house, hindered by the accumulating snow.

Ja: ダイキは早くから会場に向かっており、ハルトには焦りと不安がつのる。
En: Daiki had left for the venue early, and anxiety and impatience were mounting for Harto.

Ja: 「どうしよう...」車をなんとか掘り起こそうと、ハルトはシャベルを手にしていた。
En: "What should I do…" With a shovel in hand, Harto tried to dig out his car.

Ja: すると、隣の家のミヤコが声をかけてきた。
En: Just then, Miyako, his neighbor, called out.

Ja: 「何かお手伝いしましょうか？」
En: "Need some help?"

Ja: ミヤコは最近引っ越してきたばかりの謎めいた隣人。
En: Miyako was the mysterious new neighbor who had just moved in.

Ja: 普段はあまり話すことの少ない二人だったが、ミヤコの申し出にハルトは少し驚き、そして感謝した。
En: The two had rarely spoken before, so Harto was slightly surprised and grateful for Miyako's offer.

Ja: 「どうやって行くか悩んでるんです」ハルトは素直に打ち明けた。
En: "I’m trying to figure out how to get there," Harto admitted honestly.

Ja: 「でも、雪で車が出せなくて...」
En: "But I can’t get the car out because of the snow…"

Ja: ミヤコはしばらく考えた後、微笑みながら言った。「それなら、電車はどうですか？今日は電車がまだ動いているようですよ。」
En: After thinking for a moment, Miyako smiled and suggested, "How about taking the train? It seems the trains are still running today."

Ja: 電車。
En: A train.

Ja: ハルトは目が輝いた。
En: Harto's eyes lit up.

Ja: 雪で埋まった道を避けるには、それしかないかもしれない。
En: It might be the only way to avoid the snow-blocked roads.

Ja: すぐに駅に向かう準備をし、ミヤコの助言に従った。
En: He quickly prepared to head to the station, following Miyako's advice.

Ja: 雪道を漕ぎながら電車に乗り込み、ハルトは無事に会場に到着。
En: He trudged through the snowy path and boarded the train, safely arriving at the venue.

Ja: ちょうどその時、自分の名前がプロジェクトリーダーとして発表された。
En: Just at that moment, his name was announced as the project leader.

Ja: その瞬間、ハルトの目には喜びと安堵の涙が浮かんだ。
En: Tears of joy and relief welled up in Harto's eyes.
