A message that was always passed down to me was that money is hard to come by. You have to work yourself to the bone and sacrifice EVERYTHING else in your life – including your closest relationships – in order to succeed.

In This Episode:
For so long, I didn’t know that those things called triggers existed. I was so fused with thoughts and emotions that I would just react to things, without ever giving them a second thought.
It felt like one minute I was happily riding an elephant without a care in the world and then – BAM – just like that, the elephant was overriding me and throwing me off.
But then something happened that changed EVERYTHING. I learned to see triggers as gifts.
If there’s one thing you need to know about growth, it’s that it isn’t just a passive activity that happens in the background while you do the dishes. It’s an active engagement; something you need to work on continuously. So I began to work on my triggers, and the shifts I had were amazing.
In this episode, I’m showing you where triggers come from, how to think about them in a new way, and giving you two simple shifts you can make to start healing from the inside out.
Discover the reason you are having huge reactions to things that other people say or do, how to change that, and start handling your relationships and interactions exactly how you want.
In This Episode:
02:44 How your triggers can hurt other people
03:13 Triggers are not problems to be gotten rid of
04:11 This simple shift can help you with your triggers
05:16 What my triggers were showing me
07:12 A metaphor to help you think about triggers in a new way
12:00 How to deal with reactivity more effectively
14:22 One thing that is crucial on your healing journey
17:34 Want to learn how to heal from the inside out as quickly as possible? Do this…

So, you gave yourself the pep talk about calmly reacting to difficult people and difficult situations and it worked.
PSYCHE. It only lasted a couple of days! No matter the communication tactics, pep talks, or your deep desire, you find yourself overreacting and not being able to control your emotions.
Well, today, I’m going to let you in on a little secret…
…you probably need to heal your “Inner Child”
Heard of them?
Everyone has an inner child that reflects our childhood experiences. This inner child shows up in adulthood as our internal thoughts, emotions, and beliefs or as external behaviors and actions.
In this episode, we will be working on an exercise that only requires imagination and will be a reliable resource in preparing you to start healing that inner child.
The conversation gets tougher, the topics deeper – and as they do, you’ll want to use the 4 resources I share in this episode as a strategy for handling the heavy work of self-healing.

What do you really want in your life?
What would you say if I told you that your answer to this question may not be coming from your true, authentic self, but from a socialized pseudo-self?
Just because you feel a strong pull towards something, doesn’t mean that it is in alignment with your values and your highest self.
In this episode, I’m diving deeper into the concept of the pseudo-self vs the true self, the difference between the two, and showing you how to recognize where these may show up in your life.
Hear the fork-in-the-road moment that led me to choose the path of my highest desire instead of listening to my pseudo-self, and why the same is possible for you.
If you are trying to make a decision in an area of your life, or you know someone else who is, you don’t want to miss out on this episode.

Are you using "I statements" as a cheat sheet to dump your feelings on your partner?
Having the tool of owning your feelings only works if you use it properly – otherwise, it breaks something. In this episode, I offer a psychological insight for us all to snack on and ask if we are really using the "I statement" appropriately.
We will look at how to talk without triggering each other, and the difference between owning your personal feelings effectively and simply using the sh*t sandwich that can be the "I statement" to project your feelings onto others.
This episode also contains the reminder that if you’re not having the goal of connection and greater understanding with your partner, then no amount of "I statements" is going to get you there. Over 90% of communication is non-verbal, so your body language might be saying something completely different too!
Please join me, Dr. Kavetha Sundaramoorthy, as we explore healthy ways to get your feelings heard and your needs met.
In This Episode:
[3:35] What is an "I statement"?
[4:42] How to disagree while maintaining a connection
[5:32] If you use the tool for the wrong purpose, you break something
[6:59] Talking without triggering
[7:52] The other side of the sh*t sandwich
[12:11] Focus on the bigger goal of connection, which also means tolerating discomfort
