Da: Astrid stod ved vinduet i klasselokalet på Skolen ved Sundet.
En: Astrid stood by the window in the classroom at Skolen ved Sundet.

Da: Vinterens kolde vind slog mod ruden.
En: The cold winter wind beat against the pane.

Da: Hun trak sin sweater tættere om sig og sukkede tungt.
En: She pulled her sweater closer around her and sighed heavily.

Da: Siden hendes forældres skilsmisse var alting ændret.
En: Since her parents' divorce, everything had changed.

Da: Hjemme var der konstant stilhed.
En: At home, there was constant silence.

Da: Det var svært at vænne sig til.
En: It was hard to get used to.
