Story Transcript:

Ko: 여름이었다.
En: It was summer.

Ko: 강렬한 햇빛이 허물어져 가는 도시 위로 내리쬐고 있었다.
En: The intense sunlight was beating down on the crumbling city.

Ko: 도시 시장은 예전에 활기찼지만, 이제는 자연이 그 자리를 차지하고 있었다.
En: The city market had once been bustling, but now nature had taken over.

Ko: 덩굴이 부스 위를 덮고, 콘크리트 틈 사이에서 야생화가 피어있었다.
En: Vines covered the stalls, and wildflowers bloomed through the cracks in the concrete.

Ko: 시장 폐허 한가운데, 민준은 음식과 도구를 찾고 있었다.
En: In the middle of the market ruins, Minjun was searching for food and tools.

Ko: 그러나 그는 찾을 것이 별로 없음을 알았다.
En: However, he realized there wasn't much to find.

Ko: "거기 누구 있어요?" 희미한 목소리가 들렸다.
En: "Is anyone there?" came a faint voice.

Ko: 민준은 깜짝 놀라 고개를 들었다.
En: Minjun was startled and looked up.

Ko: 초조해 보이는 소녀가 있었다.
En: There was a girl who appeared anxious.

Ko: 그녀는 수진이었다.
En: She was Sujin.

Ko: 그녀는 지도를 들고 있었다.
En: She was holding a map.

Ko: "이거 봐요. 안전한 곳으로 가는 길이에요. 함께 갈래요?"
En: "Look at this. It's a path to a safe place. Would you like to come with me?"

Ko: 민준은 지도를 힐끗 보았다.
En: Minjun glanced at the map.

Ko: 그는 의심스러웠다.
En: He was doubtful.

Ko: 과연 이 지도가 정말로 도움이 될까?
En: Could this map really be helpful?

Ko: 이전에 같은 말을 들었지만 모두 실패했다.
En: He had heard the same words before, but they all ended in failure.

Ko: "왜 나와 함께 가자고 하지?" 민준이 물었다.
En: "Why do you want to go with me?" Minjun asked.

Ko: 수진은 미소를 지으며 대답했다.
En: Sujin replied with a smile.

Ko: "우린 서로 도와야 해요. 혼자서는 살아남을 수 없어요."
En: "We need to help each other. You can't survive on your own."

Ko: 민준은 잠시 생각에 잠겼다.
En: Minjun pondered for a moment.

Ko: 현실은 혹독했다.
En: Reality was harsh.

Ko: 그는 많은 것을 잃었다.
En: He had lost much.

Ko: 그렇지만 혼자 있는 것보다 함께하는 것이 나을지도 몰랐다.
En: Yet, perhaps being together was better than being alone.

En: In the end, he decided to follow Sujin.

En: The journey was not easy.
