Shane isn't feeling overly positive after another stitch causes another disappointing performance at the Trafford 10k. He's back to searching for answers on how best to rectify it.

If you don't like toilet chat, it might be best advised to skip Josh's week, after he has some big issues after a coffee and a croissant. He does pull himself together to race in Rome and is pleased despite it not being a sub-60 clocking.

While Aaron has recorded back-to-back 70+ mile weeks and still has not missed a day of running. He's busy meeting up with listeners for an easy run and pondering life alone for 10 days with a 2-year-old.

Episode 76 is here and there's plenty to discuss from the national xc and some British records on the boards. The biggest news is that all three of us managed to run every day of last week.

 

We realise Shane and Josh do this every week, so Aaron has finally cracked running every day for the week for the first time since we can remember. He's fully on board the Shane Robinson programme and despite pushing the boundaries a little, he's mainly behaved.

 

Josh is smashing some big sessions out in Spain and reports on his monster 22k session, where he averages 5:08 per mile, whilst running in and out k's. He also runs 24 miles in the mid-day heat and instantly regrets that decision.

 

While Shane is feeling a little burnt out and hopes an easier week in the lead up to Trafford 10k will sort him out. He semi manages a big track session, but bemoans some pace judgment from his 'mates'.

Shane has been racing down in London and despite not getting a stitch he isn't going to use any other soft excuses to justify his sub par performance.

Josh is now over in Spain, for six weeks (alright for some), but spent most of his week running laps of Battersea park at sub 6s. He has a big midweek marathon pace run to talk us through, as well as answering why Normatec are his go-to for recovery.

Aaron has just about recovered from his outing at the 30k and this week has a positive outlook on things...

It's a bumper show as we waffle on about the events that occurred in Valencia this weekend. We had two men on the ground (literally) and Josh gives his detailed insight into life on the floor in Spain.

 

However, before we get to that discussion there are plenty of other things we need to cover this week, including the big coaching debate that's raged across social. Aaron and Shane do their best to unpack the online running coaching community and how they both believe it has its place.

 

There's also a fourth co-host who makes an appearance at some point, and we left it in because at 10pm it's too much effort to find it and edit it out!

Evening, episode 69 is here for you and it's a big one. The boys chat through the XC action from the weekend as well as looking ahead to Valencia 10k and the Boston marathon women's field looks stacked.

 

We answer some serious listener questions, as well as some odd ones too, such as if you could only take one outfit for a race weekend, and had to race in it all, what would it be?

 

Josh has cracked through a big 100-mile week but leaves his girlfriend for dead during his 20 mile long run with his new best friend.

Shane is on the mend and is now confident he has a shot at a sub-40 in Valencia.

 

While Aaron manages 30 odd miles and is convinced his 5000 mile year is back on track.

That's right none of this New Year, new you nonsense, it's still the same old us.

 

Josh is carrying on with his motto of run, don't jog and despite staying up until 5am on New Year's eve (on the computer, not out), he still managed a good 18mi at sub 6s.

 

Shane caught the sickness via the airwaves from Aaron and had to back out of his intended session.

 

While Aaron managed for the second week this year, and probably the 2nd week in the last 15 years, a week where he didn't record a single run.

 

Here's to a big 2023.

The boys have taken a break from mince pie action to finally record the pod this week.

 

Aaron had to delay it longer than usual as he spent most of the Christmas period in bed with yet another illness.

 

Shane suffered a similar fate, which turns out was karma for him being so cocky about escaping illness for 11.5 months in 2022.

 

While Josh did the running for the group and finished his week off with a race at Ribble Valley. Callum Elson sums up Josh's race experience perfectly:

 

"Nothing is certain in life except death, taxes and Josh Lunn going off too hard in races"

After a freezing week in the UK, the boys are back to discuss another week of running.

 

Josh is back in the 100 mile week club but faces some questioning from Shane and Aaron as to why he runs so hard on his "easy" runs.

 

Shane has a positive Mon to Sat post-Telford, but let it slip a little with a night out and bailing on his on Sunday long run.

 

While Aaron is up to very little as per usual.
