Story Transcript:

Ja: 京都の警察署は忙しかった。
En: The Kyoto police station was busy.

Ja: 夏の夜、外には浴衣を着た人々が祭りを楽しんでいた。
En: On the summer night, people in yukatas were enjoying the festival outside.

Ja: しかし、警察署内は緊張と不安が漂っていた。
En: However, inside the police station, there was an air of tension and anxiety.

Ja: 「ソラがいない！」アキラはそう叫んで、友達のナツキと一緒に警察署に駆け込んだ。
En: "Sora is missing!" Akira shouted as he rushed into the police station with his friend Natsuki.

Ja: ソラはアキラの弟で、元気いっぱいだがどこかへ行ってしまう癖があった。
En: Sora was Akira's younger brother who was always full of energy but had a tendency to wander off somewhere.

Ja: 「どうしたの？」ナツキが尋ねた。
En: "What happened?" Natsuki asked.

Ja: 彼女はいつも冷静で、慎重だった。
En: She was always calm and cautious.

Ja: 「ソラを見失ったんだ。
En: "I lost track of Sora.

Ja: 人混みで…。
En: In the crowd...

Ja: 彼を見つけなきゃ。」アキラは息を切らして言った。
En: We have to find him," Akira said, panting.

Ja: 受付の警官が二人に近づいた。
En: An officer at the reception approached them.

Ja: 「何かお困りですか？」
En: "Is there something wrong?"

Ja: 「弟がいなくなりました。
En: "My younger brother is missing.

Ja: 名前はソラ。彼を探しています。」アキラは説明した。
En: His name is Sora. We're looking for him," Akira explained.

Ja: 警官は親切にうなずき、詳細を記入していった。
En: The officer nodded kindly and began noting down the details.

Ja: 「最後に見た場所は？」
En: "Where did you last see him?"

Ja: 「八坂神社の近くです。
En: "Near Yasaka Shrine.

Ja: 最後に見たのは夕方…。
En: The last time I saw him was in the evening...

Ja: 彼は白いTシャツと青いズボンを履いていました。」
En: He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue pants."

Ja: 警官は頷き、無線機で他の警官に連絡を取った。
En: The officer nodded and contacted other officers via radio.

Ja: 「すぐに調査を始めます。
En: "We'll start the investigation right away.

Ja: 心配しないでください。」
En: Please don't worry."

Ja: アキラとナツキは待合室で座った。
En: Akira and Natsuki sat in the waiting room.

Ja: 時間が過ぎるのが遅く感じられた。
En: Time seemed to pass slowly.

Ja: アキラは携帯を見たり、時計を確認したり、そわそわしていた。
En: Akira looked at his phone, checked the clock, and fidgeted restlessly.

Ja: やがて、電話が鳴った。

En: We'll head there immediately."

Ja: アキラとナツキは急いでその場所に向かった。
En: Akira and Natsuki hurried to the location.

Ja: 彼は怖がっていたが、怪我はなかった。
