Da: Langt inde midt i København, sad Lars og Emilie på Café Floden.
En: Far into the heart of Copenhagen, Lars and Emilie were sitting at Café Floden.

Da: De grinede meget.
En: They laughed a lot.

Da: Lars havde en idé.
En: Lars had an idea.

Da: De skulle lege en leg.
En: They should play a game.

Da: Den der kunne sige det sværeste danske ord, vandt.
En: The one who could say the most difficult Danish word would win.

Da: Lars begyndte.
En: Lars started.

Da: "Rødgrød med fløde," sagde han hurtigt.
En: "Rødgrød med fløde," he said quickly.

Da: Det var nemt.
En: It was easy.

Da: Emilie grinede og rystede på hovedet.
En: Emilie laughed and shook her head.

Da: "Det var let," sagde hun.
En: "That was easy," she said.

Da: Nu var det hendes tur.
En: Now it was her turn.

Da: "Lusepuster," sagde Emilie og grinede.
En: "Lusepuster," Emilie said and laughed.

Da: Hun sagde det langsomt og tydeligt.
En: She said it slowly and clearly.

Da: Lars prøvede at sige det.
En: Lars tried to say it.

Da: Men det lød forkert.
En: But it sounded wrong.

Da: De grinede begge to.
En: They both laughed.

Da: Det var sjovt.
En: It was funny.

Da: "Svesken på disken," sagde Lars så.
En: "Svesken på disken," Lars said then.

Da: Han sagde det lige så hurtigt som før.
En: He said it just as fast as before.

Da: Det lød lidt dumt.
En: It sounded a bit silly.

Da: Men Emilie forstod ham.
En: But Emilie understood him.

Da: "Det var sjovt," sagde hun og grinede endnu mere.
En: "That was funny," she said and laughed even more.

Da: Pludselig kom Sofie ind i caféen.
En: Suddenly Sofie came into the cafe.

Da: Hun var Lars' og Emilies gode ven.
En: She was Lars' and Emilie's good friend.

Da: "Hvad laver I," spurgte hun og satte sig ved dem.
En: "What are you doing," she asked and sat down with them.

Da: "Vi siger svære danske ord," sagde Lars.
En: "We're saying difficult Danish words," Lars said.

Da: Sofie grinede.
En: Sofie laughed.

Da: "Kan jeg være med," spurgte hun.
En: "Can I join," she asked.

Da: De sagde ja.
En: They said yes.

Da: "Ministerbilschauffør," sagde Sofie så.
En: "Ministerbilschauffør," Sofie said then.

Da: Det var et langt ord.
En: It was a long word.

Da: Lars og Emilie kiggede på hende.
En: Lars and Emilie looked at her.

Da: Det var ikke let.
En: It wasn't easy.

Da: Men de prøvede at sige det.
En: But they tried to say it.

Da: Det lød mærkeligt.
En: It sounded strange.

Da: Alle grinede.
En: Everyone laughed.

Da: Så vendte de tilbage til København.
En: Then they returned to Copenhagen.

Da: De havde haft det sjovt.
En: They had had fun.

Da: De havde lært nye, svære ord.
En: They had learned new difficult words.

Da: De havde grinet meget.
En: They had laughed a lot.

Da: Til sidst sagde Lars, "Rullepølse".
En: Finally, Lars said, "Rullepølse."

Da: Alle prøvede at sige det.
En: Everyone tried to say it.

Da: De grinede og græd næsten af grin.
En: They laughed and almost cried from laughter.

Da: Det var en perfekt dag.
En: It was a perfect day.

Da: Sådan endte det.
En: That's how it ended.

Da: Alle var glade.
En: Everyone was happy.

Da: Og de havde fået nogle sjove minder.
En: And they had some funny memories.

En: Everything was good.
