Da: Lars var en ung mand i København.
En: Lars was a young man in Copenhagen.

Da: Han elskede byen, dens liv, menneskene og dens kultur.
En: He loved the city, its life, the people, and its culture.

Da: Men der var et problem.
En: But there was a problem.

Da: Der var et dansk ord, han ikke kunne udtale.
En: There was a Danish word he couldn't pronounce.

Da: Ordet var "rød grød med fløde".
En: The word was "rød grød med fløde."

Da: Hver gang Lars forsøgte at sige det, blev det til "ro gro me flo".
En: Every time Lars tried to say it, it came out as "ro gro me flo."

Da: Alle grinede.
En: Everyone laughed.

Da: En dag, sammen med hans venner i en café ved Strøget, prøvede Lars igen.
En: One day, with his friends in a café at Strøget, Lars tried again.

Da: "Ro gro me flo.
En: "Ro gro me flo."

Da: " Hans venner grinede, gæstene grinede, endda tjeneren grinede.
En: His friends laughed, the guests laughed, even the waiter laughed.

Da: "Lars, du vil aldrig sige det rigtigt," sagde hans ven, Jonas.
En: "Lars, you will never say it right," said his friend, Jonas.

Da: Lars var træt af at blive grinet af, så han besluttede at han ville mestre det ord.
En: Tired of being laughed at, Lars decided he would master that word.

Da: Han opsøgte en sprogcoach ved navn Helle i et hyggeligt kontor på Frederiksberg.
En: He sought out a language coach named Helle in a cozy office in Frederiksberg.

Da: Helle var flink, med blå øjne og rødt hår.
En: Helle was nice, with blue eyes and red hair.

Da: Hver dag, i en time, prøvede Lars at sige “rød grød med fløde”.
En: Every day, for an hour, Lars tried to say "rød grød med fløde."

Da: Men hver gang blev det til "ro gro me flo".
En: But every time it came out as "ro gro me flo."

Da: Lars var frustreret, men Helle opgav ikke.
En: Lars was frustrated, but Helle didn't give up.

Da: “Lars, vi fortsætter!
En: "Lars, we keep going!

Da: Du kan gøre det!
En: You can do it!"

Da: " sagde hun.
En: she said.

Da: Over mange uger fortsatte Lars med at øve med Helle.
En: Over many weeks, Lars continued to practice with Helle.

Da: De mødtes i parker, ved Floden, i kaffebarer, endda i Tivoli en dag.
En: They met in parks, by the river, in coffee shops, even in Tivoli one day.

Da: Men det var stadig "ro gro me flo".
En: But it was still "ro gro me flo."

Da: Dog begyndte lars langsomt at bemærke en ændring.
En: However, Lars slowly began to notice a change.

Da: Det var ikke helt der endnu, men han kunne mærke forskellen.
En: It wasn't quite there yet, but he could feel the difference.

Da: "Jeg vil få det, Helle!
En: "I will get it, Helle!"

Da: " udbrød han glad.
En: he exclaimed happily.

Da: Endelig en dag, efter mange møder, ville det komme.
En: Finally, one day, after many sessions, it would come.

Da: De sad i Helle's kontor på Frederiksberg.
En: They sat in Helle's office in Frederiksberg.

Da: Lars tog en dyb indånding og prøvede endnu engang.
En: Lars took a deep breath and tried once again.

Da: Og der, endelig, lød det klart og tydeligt.
En: And there, finally, it sounded clear and distinct.

Da: "Rød grød med fløde".
En: "Rød grød med fløde."

Da: Helle sprang op og klappede.
En: Helle jumped up and clapped.

Da: "Lars, du fik det!
En: "Lars, you did it!"

Da: " råbte hun.
En: she cried.

Da: En uge senere, i den samme café ved Strøget, sammen med sine venner, prøvede Lars igen.
En: A week later, in the same café at Strøget, with his friends, Lars tried again.

Da: "Rød grød med fløde," sagde han.
En: "Rød grød med fløde," he said.

Da: Alle tav, og så begyndte de at klappe.
En: Everyone fell silent, and then they began to clap.

Da: Lars smilede.
En: Lars smiled.

Da: Han havde endelig mestret det danske sprog.
En: He had finally mastered the Danish language.

Da: Han så på Jonas og sagde, "Se, jeg sagde, at jeg kunne gøre det.
En: He looked at Jonas and said, "See, I told you I could do it."

Da: " Og fra det øjeblik grinede ingen mere af Lars.
En: And from that moment on, no one laughed at Lars anymore.
