Story Transcript:

En: Freja, Lars and Sofie were at a summer barbecue in the garden.

En: They were with their friends and neighbors enjoying the warm sunshine.

En: Lars took a strawberry dessert from the table and found a bowl of whipped cream next to it.

En: He put the dollop of whipped cream on top of his dessert and was ready to take a bite.

Da: Men Lars havde lavet en fejl.
En: But Lars had made a mistake.

En: It wasn't whipped cream he had used.

Da: Det var en balje mayonnaise!
En: It was a tub of mayonnaise!

En: When Lars took his first bite, his face took on a confused expression.

Da: Han blev ikke glad.
En: He was not happy.

Da: Alle omkring ham begyndte at grine.
En: Everyone around him started laughing.

Da: Mayonnaise på jordbærdessert?
En: Mayonnaise on strawberry dessert?

Da: Det var virkelig mærkeligt!
En: It was really strange!

En: Freja, Lars' sister, shook her head at him, but stopped laughing.

Da: Hun vidste, at Lars ikke kunne lide mayonnaise.
En: She knew that Lars didn't like mayonnaise.

En: But she was glad to see that he could laugh at himself instead of getting mad.

En: Sofie, who was Freja's best friend, couldn't stop laughing.

En: She couldn't believe that Lars had mistaken mayonnaise for whipped cream.

Da: Det var så dumt!
En: That was so stupid!

En: Lars was a little embarrassed, but he decided to take it nice.

En: He apologized to everyone and wiped the mayonnaise off his dessert.

En: He also laughed at himself and said, "Next time I'll have to look properly before I put anything on my food!"

En: The barbecue party continued with lots of laughs and good food.

En: Everyone agreed that even though Lars had made a mistake, he made it a fun experience for everyone.

En: The conflict had been resolved and the story had a happy ending.

Da: For selvom Lars havde fået mayonnaise på sin jordbærdessert, var det vigtigste, at de alle havde det sjovt sammen.
En: Because even though Lars had mayonnaise on his strawberry dessert, the most important thing was that they all had fun together.

En: Then Freja, Lars and Sofie always remembered this day as the day when Lars accidentally turned a strawberry dessert into a strange combination of strawberries and mayonnaise.

En: And it made them laugh every time they thought about it.
