Story Transcript:

En: In Tivoli, in the middle of Copenhagen, there were two friends, Lars and Anders, who decided to take their friend, Kirsten, on a roller coaster ride.

En: They were all excited and ready for a fun day at the park.

En: Lars and Anders were not afraid of heights, so they expected to have fun.

En: But there was one thing they didn't know about Kirsten.

Da: Hun var bange for højder - rigtig, rigtig bange.
En: She was afraid of heights - really, really afraid.

En: They didn't know that Kirsten was as scared as a squirrel in a grumpy crocodile's mouth!

En: When they reached the tall, scary slide, Kirsten stood looking with a nervous smile.

En: Lars and Anders thought she was excited about the trip and was looking forward to trying something new.

En: So they jumped onto the slide and placed Kirsten between them.

Da: Men da rutsjebanen begyndte at køre op ad det stejle stykke, begyndte Kirsten pludselig at skrige - højt og meget højt!
En: But when the slide started going up the steep part, Kirsten suddenly started screaming - loud and very loud!

En: All the way up, down and around the entire slide she cried out in terror.

En: Lars and Anders tried to keep their faces straight and laugh, but they were actually a little afraid that they would fall off the slide.

Da: Da rutsjebanen endelig stoppede, begyndte Kirsten at græde.
En: When the slide finally stopped, Kirsten started to cry.

Da: Hun var meget lettet over, at turen var forbi, men også flov over at have skreget så meget.
En: She was very relieved that the trip was over, but also embarrassed to have screamed so much.

En: Lars and Anders comforted her and assured her that it was okay to be scared.

En: They didn't want to force her to try something she was scared of.

En: After the roller coaster ride, they went to a less wild ride that both Lars and Anders could enjoy without being scared.

En: Kirsten was relieved not to have to go through another scary ride.

En: They laughed and played all afternoon and had a really good time at the end.

Da: Så selvom Kirsten var bange for højder og skreg hele vejen igennem rutsjebaneturen, endte dagen alligevel lykkeligt.
En: So even though Kirsten was afraid of heights and screamed all the way through the roller coaster ride, the day still ended happily.

En: Lars and Anders learned to respect her fears and Kirsten learned that she could have fun in the park without trying the wildest rides.

En: And the three friends had a fantastic, memorable day in Tivoli.
