Story Transcript:

Ja: 嵐山の竹林は美しい場所です。
En: The bamboo forest of Arashiyama is a beautiful place.

Ja: 竹が高く伸び、風が吹くと風鈴のような音がします。
En: The bamboo stretches high, and when the wind blows, it makes a sound like wind chimes.

Ja: ある日、春樹、結菜、そして健太が嵐山竹林を訪れました。
En: One day, Haruki, Yuna, and Kenta visited the Arashiyama bamboo forest.

Ja: 天気は晴れで、3人は笑いながら歩いていました。
En: The weather was clear, and the three of them walked while laughing.

Ja: 突然、黒い雲が空を覆いました。
En: Suddenly, black clouds covered the sky.

Ja: 風が強くなり、雨が降り始めました。
En: The wind picked up, and it began to rain.

Ja: 最初は小雨でしたが、すぐに激しい雷雨になりました。
En: At first, it was a light rain, but it soon turned into a heavy thunderstorm.

Ja: 3人は慌てて竹林の中を走り、木の下に隠れました。
En: The three of them hurriedly ran through the bamboo forest and hid under a tree.

Ja: 「どうしよう？」春樹が心配そうに言いました。
En: “What should we do?” Haruki said worriedly.

Ja: 「ここで待とうか？」結菜が提案しました。しかし、雨は止む気配がありませんでした。
En: “Should we wait here?” Yuna suggested. However, there was no sign of the rain stopping.

Ja: 風が強く、竹が揺れていました。
En: The wind was strong, and the bamboo was swaying.

Ja: その時、健太が静かに話し始めました。「実は、みんなに言わなきゃいけないことがある。」
En: At that moment, Kenta began to speak quietly. “Actually, there's something I need to tell you all.”

Ja: 結菜と春樹は驚いて健太を見つめました。「何？」
En: Yuna and Haruki looked at Kenta in surprise. “What is it?”

Ja: 「実は、僕、ずっと秘密を抱えていたんだ。」健太の声は震えていました。
En: “The truth is, I’ve been keeping a secret for a long time.” Kenta's voice was trembling.

Ja: 「僕は、高校生の時に、友達を失った。」
En: “When I was in high school, I lost a friend.”

Ja: 「どういうこと？」春樹が尋ねました。
En: “What do you mean?” Haruki asked.

Ja: 「嵐の日に、一緒に登山へ行ったんだ。でも、彼は崖から落ちてしまった。それ以来、嵐が来るたびに彼のことを思い出すんだ。」
En: “We went hiking together on a stormy day. But he fell off a cliff. Ever since then, every time a storm comes, I remember him.”

Ja: 結菜は健太の肩に手を置きました。「それは辛かったね。でも、私たちがいるよ。君は一人じゃない。」
En: Yuna placed her hand on Kenta's shoulder. “That must have been tough. But we are here for you. You’re not alone.”

Ja: 春樹も健太を元気づけました。「怖い思い出かもしれないけど、今、僕たちは一緒にいる。大丈夫だ。」
En: Haruki encouraged Kenta as well. “It may be a scary memory, but now we are together. It’s going to be okay.”

Ja: その時、雨が少しずつ弱まり始めました。
En: At that moment, the rain began to weaken little by little.

Ja: 風も落ち着き、太陽が顔を出しました。
En: The wind calmed down, and the sun came out.

Ja: 3人は安堵のため息をつきました。
En: The three of them sighed in relief.

Ja: 「嵐が止んだね。」結菜がほっとしました。
En: “The storm has stopped,” Yuna said, feeling relieved.

Ja: 「もう怖がらないよ。みんながいてくれるから。」健太は微笑みました。
En: “I'm not scared anymore because you’re all here with me,” Kenta smiled.

Ja: 3人は再び竹林を歩き出しました。
En: The three of them started walking through the bamboo forest again.

Ja: 嵐は彼らを一瞬だけ閉じ込めたが、その時間のおかげで、友達の絆は深まりました。
En: The storm had trapped them for a moment, but because of that time, their friendship grew stronger.
