Story Transcript:

Da: En solrig eftermiddag i København.
En: A sunny afternoon in Copenhagen.

Da: Lars og Sofie, to gode venner, gik langs den travle Strøget.
En: Lars and Sofie, two good friends, were walking along the busy Strøget.

En: People were everywhere, and the smell of hotdogs filled the air.

En: The location was an important part of the story.

En: It was right in the middle of Strøget, by the most famous hotdog stand.

Da: Lars var sulten.
En: Lars was hungry.

En: He pointed at a hotdog stand and said to Sofie, "I just want to grab a quick bite from here."

En: So Lars went to the stand and said without thinking, "A hotdog with everything, please."

En: It was a regular day for the hotdog man.

En: He quickly made Lars' hotdog with all the usual toppings: ketchup, mustard, remoulade, raw and fried onions, and pickles.

Da: For Lars var pickles som hans værste fjende.
En: For Lars, pickles were like his worst enemy.

En: But Lars didn't notice the green slices among the many ingredients.

En: When the hotdog man handed Lars his hotdog, he proudly said, "Here is an authentic Danish hotdog, my friend!"

En: Lars thanked him and returned to Sofie.

En: As they started eating, Lars took a big bite of his hotdog.

Da: Så snart han smagte pickles, frøs han.
En: As soon as he tasted the pickles, he froze.

En: He discretely glanced at the hotdog man, not wanting to lose his dignity.

En: He didn't like pickles, and now he was stuck with a whole hotdog filled with them.

En: He didn't know what to do.

En: He didn't like the idea of offending the hotdog man.

En: So he started eating it discreetly, filled with discomfort.

Da: Sofie bemærkede hans ansigtsudtryk og grinede.
En: Sofie noticed his expression and laughed.

Da: "Hvad er der galt, Lars?
En: "What's wrong, Lars?"

Da: ", Spurgte hun.
En: she asked.

Da: "Intet," svarede Lars og prøvede at smile.
En: "Nothing," Lars replied, trying to smile.

En: He continued eating his hotdog, even though he really didn't enjoy it.

Da: Til sidst var det overstået.
En: Finally, it was over.

En: Lars had eaten his hotdog, even though he enjoyed it less than going to the dentist.

Da: Men han følte en form for stolthed.
En: But he felt a sense of pride.

Da: Han havde klaret en vanskelig situation uden at fornærme nogen.
En: He had handled a difficult situation without offending anyone.

En: As the sun started to set, Lars and Sofie continued their stroll, and Lars promised to be more careful the next time he ordered a hotdog.

En: And so ended a regular day in the lives of Lars and Sofie in the heart of Copenhagen.

En: But even though it wasn't adventurous, it was an important day for Lars.

En: He learned that it's better to tell the truth, even if it can be a bit uncomfortable.

En: And all because of a simple hotdog.
