Guys! This is the final episode of the season!! And we absolutely LOVED discussing the topics that came up in this episode. The whole episode begins though with a massive catch up on Mel’s health journey this year. It’s been a wild one to say the least – so much progress…but at a bit of a price. Mel’s been largely off social media for months and hasn’t shared this journey anywhere so if you’ve been wanting to hear what’s been going on – this is the ep for you. There’s a huge content warning for this episode though because of the chat about Mel’s health – we discuss mental health, depression, weight loss and dieting. So if any of that is uncomfortable or if you just want to skip straight to the actual content of the ep – fast forward through to the 32 minute mark. We’ve made this episode in the hopes that it will save you some time, money and energy not making the same mistakes we’ve made. And, to share the things that have really made a huge impact on our health journeys. We hope you find it helpful! This episode is brought to you by Mel's soon to be released PCOS fertility course! This is an exciting ep for us to put out…but full warning…it also starts with a bit of a heavy catch up at the start. We recorded it months ago and we did want to make a note now to say that Elma is ok! We’ve still got some possible procedures ahead but since this episode we have found out that whatever it is, it’s NOT cancerous. So the relief is exploding over here. It was a rough few months. But back to the topic at hand – this episode dives into some really simple and powerful hacks for working on weight management with PCOS. We cover everything from lifestyle to supplements to self love and the things that have really helped us on our own journeys with this. We hope it’s helpful. And as much as we tried our very best to handle this complex topic with care and respect, we of course need to throw a trigger warning on it – if you’re not feeling like listening to content about weight loss right now, follow that instinct and give this ep a miss. About 70-80% of people with PCOS have insulin resistance so this weeks deep dive is such an important one for so many of us. In this episode we look at the herbs, supplements and lifestyle practices (and nutritional HACKS!) that can help balance your blood sugar and insulin. If you have insulin resistance – addressing it is one of the most impactful things you can do for your PCOS. Insulin resistance increases our androgens, causing irregular cycles and all of our pcos symptoms PLUS can lead to more chronic health conditions like diabetes – so this isn’t one to gloss over – addressing it can really turn things around for you.
