Story Transcript:

Da: Novellen starter i et klirrende smukt vinterland.
En: The novella begins in a beautifully crisp winter wonderland.

Da: Det er i København, i hjertet af byen – nemlig Tivoli.
En: It is in Copenhagen, in the heart of the city - namely Tivoli.

Da: Sneen falder stille ned, og julelysene funklede i farverige farver, der blændede vores to hovedpersoner, Lars og Sofie.
En: Snow falls gently, and the Christmas lights sparkle in colorful colors, dazzling our two main characters, Lars and Sofie.

Da: Lars og Sofie er bedste venner.
En: Lars and Sofie are best friends.

Da: De elsker Tivoli og dens magiske atmosfære.
En: They love Tivoli and its magical atmosphere.

Da: Men i dag er ikke som de andre gange.
En: But today is not like the other times.

Da: I dag skal de finde Henrik.
En: Today they have to find Henrik.

Da: Henrik er Lars' lillebror, og han er blevet væk.
En: Henrik is Lars' little brother, and he has gone missing.

Da: De har søgt efter ham overalt.
En: They have searched for him everywhere.

Da: Ved de store rutsjebaner, i de snørklede haver og ved det lysende pariserhjul.
En: By the big roller coasters, in the winding gardens, and by the glowing Ferris wheel.

Da: Men Henrik er ikke at finde.
En: But Henrik is nowhere to be found.

Da: Lars graver dybt i lommen og trækker en krøllet besked ud.
En: Lars digs deep into his pocket and pulls out a crumpled note.

Da: Det er fra Henrik.
En: It is from Henrik.

Da: "Mød mig ved den gamle karussel," står der.
En: "Meet me at the old carousel," it says.

Da: Men hvor er denne gamle karussel?
En: But where is this old carousel?

Da: Lars og Sofie vandrer forvirret rundt i Tivolis snoede stier.
En: Lars and Sofie wander around the twisted paths of Tivoli, confused.

Da: De ser på hvert et gammelt træ og hver en flittig julepyntet bod.
En: They look at every old tree and every diligently decorated Christmas booth.

Da: Men karussellen er ingen steder at se.
En: But the carousel is nowhere to be seen.

Da: Konflikten buldrer frem nu – tiden er ved at løbe ud.
En: The conflict intensifies now - time is running out.

Da: Henrik skal findes.
En: Henrik must be found.

Da: Lars og Sofie kigger på hinanden.
En: Lars and Sofie look at each other.

Da: De vil ikke give op.
En: They won't give up.

Da: De vil finde Henrik.
En: They will find Henrik.

Da: Og de vil gøre det sammen.
En: And they will do it together.

Da: De spørger en venlig gammel mand ved en popcornsbod.
En: They ask a friendly old man at a popcorn booth.

Da: Han peger mod nord og siger "nær perlefuglens bur, finder du hvad du søger.
En: He points north and says, "near the peacock's cage, you will find what you are looking for."

Da: " De takker ham og skynder sig af sted.
En: They thank him and hurry away.

Da: De farer gennem Tivoli, guideret af mandens ord.
En: They race through Tivoli, guided by the man's words.

Da: Omsider hører de en svag musik i det fjerne.
En: Finally, they hear faint music in the distance.

Da: En fin, gammeldags melodi, der danser på vinden.
En: A delicate, old-fashioned melody dancing on the wind.

Da: Måske er det.
En: Could it be...?

Da: Ja, det er karussellen!
En: Yes, it's the carousel!

Da: Men hvor er Henrik?
En: But where is Henrik?

Da: De spejder rundt, ind til Lars øje fanger noget.
En: They scan the area until Lars' eye catches something.

Da: Ved karussellens fod sidder Henrik med en is.
En: Sitting at the foot of the carousel is Henrik with an ice cream.

Da: Han ser op og smiler.
En: He looks up and smiles.

Da: Han havde fundet den gamle karussel, men havde glemt at fortælle dem, at han var kommet først.
En: He had found the old carousel but forgot to tell them that he arrived first.

Da: "Hvor har jeg ledt efter dig!
En: "I've been searching everywhere for you!"

Da: " udbryder Lars lettet og falder på knæ foran Henrik.
En: Lars exclaims, relieved, and falls to his knees in front of Henrik.

Da: Sofie griner og rækker hånden frem mod Henrik.
En: Sofie laughs and reaches out her hand towards Henrik.

Da: "Kom, lad os tage en tur på karussellen sammen," siger hun og trækker ham op.
En: "Come on, let's take a ride on the carousel together," she says, pulling him up.

Da: De tre venner finder plads på de skinnende heste.
En: The three friends find seats on the shining horses.

Da: Med et suk af lettelse og glæde begynder karussellen at dreje.
En: With a sigh of relief and joy, the carousel begins to turn.

Da: Sneen falder stille rundt om dem, mens de rider sammen ind i den funklende juleaften.
En: Snow falls gently around them as they ride together into the sparkling Christmas Eve.

Da: Konflikten er løst, og novellen ender med et smørret smil på alle deres ansigter.
En: The conflict is resolved, and the novella ends with a soft smile on all their faces.
