Story Transcript:

Da: Snefnugg dalede stille ned over København.
En: Snowflakes drifted quietly down over København.

Da: Amalienborg Slot glimtede under den grå vinterhimmel.
En: Amalienborg Slot glittered under the gray winter sky.

En: Tourists gathered in the courtyard, their breath visible in the cold air.

Da: Freja og Lars stod midt i mængden, pakket ind i varme frakker.
En: Freja and Lars stood in the middle of the crowd, wrapped in warm coats.

En: Freja watched the magnificent palace with fascination.

En: She was here to find inspiration for her next novel.

Da: "Lars, se hvor mange vi er!"
En: "Lars, look how many of us there are!"

Da: sagde Freja og smilede nervøst.
En: said Freja, smiling nervously.

En: "I know," replied Lars as he adjusted his camera.

En: "I’m going to capture a fantastic picture."

En: Freja lifted her gaze to the royal guards, who were preparing for the changing of the guard.

En: She noticed their precise movements and stiff discipline.

Da: Men folkemængden gjorde det svært for hende at fokusere.
En: But the crowd made it difficult for her to focus.

Da: Hun ønskede at se nærmere på detaljer i ceremonien.
En: She wanted to take a closer look at the details of the ceremony.

En: "I'm going to get a bit closer," said Freja suddenly and began to make her way through the crowd.

En: She wanted to find a quiet spot where she could see better.

En: Lars nodded and stayed put, absorbed in his photos.

En: Freja stumbled a bit off course and found herself in a quieter corner of the courtyard.

Da: Herfra kunne hun se vagterne tydeligere.
En: From here, she could see the guards more clearly.

En: But before she knew it, she had stepped into a marked-off area.

En: "Ma'am, you can't be here," said the guard in a firm voice.

Da: Undskyldende forsøgte Freja at forklare.
En: Apologetically, Freja tried to explain.

Da: Men vagten bad hende følge med.
En: But the guard asked her to follow.

En: It was both embarrassing and a little frightening.

En: Lars, who had spotted the incident from his position, hurried over to her.

En: "Sorry, it was a mistake on our part," he said reassuringly to the guard.

En: "Freja is a writer and was just gathering inspiration."

En: After a bit of discussion, they were allowed to leave, with a reminder to respect the restricted areas.

En: As they walked back through the crowd, Freja felt a new respect for the guards' duties.

En: "I want to write about this," she said to Lars.

Da: "Ikke kun om traditionerne, men om menneskene bag."
En: "Not just about the traditions, but about the people behind them."

En: "That sounds like a great idea," Lars replied, giving her an encouraging smile.

En: They left the squares with widened smiles, colder cheeks, and a story worth telling.

En: Amalienborg's proud ceremonies now lived within them—not just as traditions, but as stories of the people who carried them.
