For some HSP personalities life is more exciting then for other highly sensitive people.
You're always looking for the next big kick. And those very kicks that you love so much knock you out for days afterwards?
Then you may be living the dilemma life of a highly sensitive High Sensation Seeker personality.
70% of highly sensitive people are rather introverted and reserved. But then there are the others: Extraverted, outgoing types who are always looking for adventure.
Psychologist Elaine Aron, who specialises in high sensitivity, has created a test for this. Today we are going to look at 4 particularly pronounced characteristics of highly sensitive high sensation seekers.
1. Every day is different
As a High Sensation Seeker you are not so much into fixed routines. Your days are based more on your state of mood than on your calendar. You get so bored with repetitive activities that you try to do something as varied as possible. This makes you a very spontaneous person.
2. Imposed rest periods are unbearable
You know very well that sometimes you should shift down a gear. But forced rest feels even more unbearable than the exhaustion your daily activity costs you. As a highly sensitive personality type, you need rest to regenerate your central nervous system. Since you rarely give it to yourself, your life feels more like a rollercoaster ride: One minute you're full of energy and bubbling, the next you're deadly tired for days.
3. You are fascinated by drugs and substances that make you high as a kite
THC, alcohol, cocaine, but also psychedelic substances are incredibly exciting to you despite their potential downsides and dangers. You have already experimented with them yourself. Altered states of consciousness give you a kick and provide you with unforgettable new experiences. Maybe you have also experimented with drugs, precisely because most of them are forbidden ;-)
Of course, this is not meant to be an invitation to use them!
4. You are a multi-talent
You are good at many things, but you are not the type of person who dedicates his life to just one thing. Instead, you are a gifted multi-talent who likes to try new things. You are particularly enthusiastic about new activities, playing the guitar or taking a cooking course. But after a few weeks this enthusiasm for new things subsides and you devote yourself to the next adventure.
