Story Transcript:

En: It was a brilliant spring day in København.

Da: Solen skinnede over Tivoli, og blomsterne dansede i den lette brise.
En: The sun was shining over Tivoli, and the flowers danced in the light breeze.

En: For Freja, Lars, and the rest of their class, it was a day full of expectations.

En: They were on a field trip, and happy voices filled the air.

En: Freja saw adventures everywhere, especially around the old carousel, which was rumored to be haunted.

Da: "Det er sikkert noget sludder," sagde Lars, da Freja igen nævnte karrusellen.
En: "It's probably just nonsense," said Lars, when Freja mentioned the carousel again.

En: But Freja's curiosity was piqued, and she couldn’t let the chance to solve the mystery pass her by.

En: Their teachers had clearly warned them to stay away because of safety concerns.

Da: Under frokostpausen så Freja sit snit.
En: During the lunch break, Freja seized her chance.

Da: "Lars," sagde hun ivrigt.
En: "Lars," she said eagerly.

Da: "Lad os udforske karrusellen.
En: "Let's explore the carousel.

Da: Ingen vil bemærke det."
En: No one will notice."

Da: Lars tøvede et øjeblik.
En: Lars hesitated for a moment.

Da: Han vidste, at de kunne komme i alvorlige problemer, men Frejas entusiasme var smitsom.
En: He knew they could get into serious trouble, but Freja's enthusiasm was contagious.

En: "Okay," he finally nodded, "but if something goes wrong, we'll tell them immediately."

En: They snuck over to the carousel, which stood still and silent in the middle of the garden.

En: Freja carefully grabbed the panel and pulled it up.

Da: Indeni fandt de en gammel skitsebog.
En: Inside, they found an old sketchbook.

En: Freja looked through the yellowed pages and found drawings of the carousel.

En: "Mikkel," exclaimed Lars, pointing to a signature.

Da: Mikkel havde holdt sig lidt for sig selv, men nu forstod de, hvorfor hans øjne altid syntes at betragte karrusellen.
En: Mikkel had kept to himself a bit, but now they understood why his eyes always seemed to study the carousel.

Da: Hans bedstefar havde designet den.
En: His grandfather had designed it.

En: As if she had summoned him, Mikkel appeared behind them.

En: "I would have told you," he said quietly, "but I thought it was a secret."

Da: Freja smilede.
En: Freja smiled.

Da: "Mikkel, vi har brug for din hjælp.
En: "Mikkel, we need your help.

Da: Kan du tegne dette?"
En: Can you draw this?"

En: Mikkel hesitated but then sat down with his sketchpad.

En: His pencil came alive on the paper, and slowly a forgotten mechanism was revealed.

En: Suddenly, the carousel lit up in a storm of lights, and what had looked like a ghost was just the lights dancing in patterns.

Da: "Det er fantastisk," udbrød Lars.
En: "This is amazing," exclaimed Lars.

Da: "Din bedstefar var genial."
En: "Your grandfather was brilliant."

En: Mikkel smiled for the first time, feeling accepted by his new friends.

Da: Freja indså, at hun aldrig ville have kunne løst mysteriet alene.
En: Freja realized that she never would have been able to solve the mystery alone.

En: She needed Lars' courage and Mikkel's talent.

En: As the day came to a close and Tivoli was illuminated by thousands of lights, they left the park with a new understanding.

Da: Et venskab havde blomstret iblandt dem, ligesom de tulipaner som havde omgivet dem hele dagen.
En: A friendship had blossomed among them, just like the tulips that had surrounded them all day.

En: The adventure had not only uncovered the secrets of the carousel but also the strength of working together.
