Story Transcript:

En: In the old boarding school in the countryside, where the trees had just gotten their first green leaves and spring scented the air, lived Lars and Astrid.

En: The school was situated in the middle of the beautiful landscape, surrounded by blooming spring flowers and birdsong.

En: The many students looked forward to the spring concert, which would mark the Easter holiday.

Da: Lars havde altid været god til at spille violin.
En: Lars had always been good at playing the violin.

En: His fingerwork was impressive, but he was shy and had a fear of standing in front of an audience.

En: Every time the thought of playing alone came up, his hands got sweaty, and his heart pounded.

Da: Astrid var hans nære ven.
En: Astrid was his close friend.

En: She was bright and radiant like the sun and believed in Lars more than he believed in himself.

En: "You can do it, Lars," she often said.

Da: "Publikum vil elske at høre dig spille."
En: "The audience will love to hear you play."

Da: Dagene op til koncerten gik hurtigt.
En: The days leading up to the concert passed quickly.

Da: Påskeæg og farverige dekorationer prydede koncertsalen.
En: Easter eggs and colorful decorations adorned the concert hall.

En: Everyone prepared, and Lars knew he had to make a decision.

Da: Skulle han spille solo?
En: Should he play solo?

En: "Astrid, I don't dare," said Lars one evening.

Da: Selv tvivlen havde slået rod i hans sind.
En: Self-doubt had taken root in his mind.

Da: "Hvad nu hvis jeg laver fejl?"
En: "What if I make mistakes?"

Da: Astrid kiggede ham dybt i øjnene.
En: Astrid looked deeply into his eyes.

Da: "Vi øver sammen, Lars.
En: "We'll practice together, Lars.

En: I know it will go well," she said with her usual confidence.

En: The two friends retreated to the music room and played the melody Lars loved most.

En: The tones flowed through the evening air like a quiet stream.

Da: Endelig kom dagen for den sidste prøve.
En: Finally, the day for the final rehearsal arrived.

En: Lars’s nerves were like a storm inside.

En: Should he let fear win and retreat to the orchestra?

Da: "Min ven," sagde Astrid blidt, da hun så hans usikkerhed.
En: "My friend," said Astrid gently when she saw his uncertainty.

En: "Think about the smile you bring to people with the music.

Da: Tænk på den glæde."
En: Think about the joy."

En: The darkness outside turned to light, and Lars realized he had to take the chance.

En: During the concert, surrounded by flower wreaths and Easter eggs, he stepped forward alone on the stage.

En: He took a deep breath, the bow on his violin started to move, and the melody flowed out.

Da: Den begyndte vaklende, men snart greb musikken ham.
En: It began faltering, but soon the music seized him.

En: The audience fell silent, captivated by his play.

En: When he finished, applause filled the room, and Lars smiled with true joy in his heart.

En: After the performance, Lars and Astrid went outside, where the first stars lit up the night sky.

Da: "Du gjorde det, Lars," sagde Astrid stolt.
En: "You did it, Lars," said Astrid proudly.

Da: "Tak, Astrid," svarede Lars.
En: "Thank you, Astrid," replied Lars.

En: He now knew that despite fear, one can find the strength to share what they love.

En: He walked away from the concert with more than just applause.

En: He walked away with confidence in himself and the meaning of friendship.
