Story Transcript:

He: עם השמש החזקה של סוף הקיץ והחולצה הלבנה שעל גופו, נעם הרגיש פרפרים בבטן.
En: With the strong end-of-summer sun and the white shirt on his body, Noam felt butterflies in his stomach.

He: היום הראשון של שנת הלימודים הבוגרת הגיע.
En: The first day of senior year had arrived.

He: הוא עמד בפתח בית הספר הציבורי הגדול והסתכל על התלמידים שהתרוצצו במסדרונות, מתעוררים מחדש מחופשת הקיץ הארוכה.
En: He stood at the entrance of the large public school and looked at the students bustling through the hallways, waking up again from the long summer break.

He: "טלי!" הוא קרא כשראה את חברתו הטובה מתקרבת.
En: "Tali!" he called out when he saw his good friend approaching.

He: הם היו חברים טובים מאז חטיבת הביניים.
En: They had been close friends since middle school.

He: נעם היה תמיד רציני ושקדן, ואילו טלי הייתה מחפשת את הכיף, אך ביחד הם השלימו אחד את השניה.
En: Noam was always serious and diligent, while Tali was always looking for fun, but together they complemented each other.

He: "היכון ליום הראשון," אמר בחיוך.
En: "Ready for the first day," he said with a smile.

He: "טלי מחייכת, אבל נעם הרגיש את הלחץ שבה,"אני מקווה שהשנה תיהיה מפתיעה לטובה," היא אמרה, מנסה להישמע קלילה.
En: Tali smiled, but Noam sensed her underlying anxiety.

En: "Guess what?" Noam said excitedly, "I'm joining the science club. It will look great on my college application."

En: Tali raised an eyebrow, "And what about me?" she asked, half-jokingly, "Will I be spending all my time seeking fun while you're in your clubs?"

En: Noam sighed. He wished Tali would join him.

En: The following day, there was an audition for the science club.

En: He arrived early and reviewed his work again.

En: She approached him and said, "I thought I’d give it a shot."

En: Noam felt a mix of emotions.

En: She was impressive, and the teacher looked astonished.

He: "המועדון שלך חשוב לי, אבל אני רוצה גם להנות," היא אמרה לו בסוף היום.
En: "Your club is important to me, but I also want to have fun," she told him at the end of the day.

En: They walked home together and began talking about the future.

En: Noam realized he couldn't keep pushing himself so hard, and Tali understood she could achieve more than she thought.

En: The year passed with them supporting each other.

En: Noam learned to appreciate the moment and enjoy it with Tali.

En: She found new self-confidence and her purpose for the future.

En: At the end of the year, they stood together in the class photo, knowing they were both ready for whatever would come.

En: Noam smiled, "Make the most of the time."

En: Tali laughed and danced a little flamenco with her hands.
