Story Transcript:

He: וו!
En: hook!

He: אבי הלך לטייל בתל אביב וחשב שיסגור את היום במסעדת חומוס בכפר סבא.
En: My father went for a walk in Tel Aviv and thought he would end the day at a hummus restaurant in Kfar Saba.

He: אבי ידע שהחומוס שם טעים מאוד.
En: My father knew that the hummus there was very tasty.

He: אבי הזמין שם חומוס כמו תמיד, אבל הפעם הוא היה ממש מזכיר, וכיוון שפנים לפנים הזמניות לא רצוות להתחתן עם הכלת שלהן לא היה אפשר לתקן את הטעות.
En: My father ordered hummus there as always, but this time he was really a secretary, and since the temporary faces were not willing to marry their bride, it was not possible to correct the mistake.

He: "אני רוצה חומוס, חמוצים ולחמניות בבקשה", אמר אבי.
En: "I want hummus, pickles and rolls, please," said my father.

He: המלצר מבין את מה שאבי אמר, אך עם הם מתבוננים היטב.
En: The waiter understands what my father said, but they are watching carefully.

He: אבי חושב שהם מחכים לכתוב את ההזמנה.
En: My father thinks they are waiting to write the order.

He: המלצר משיב: "איזה סוג חומוס תרצה?
En: The waiter replies: "What kind of hummus would you like?"

He: ""אני רוצה רגיל", ענה אבי.
En: "I want a normal one," replied my father.

He: המטבח החליט להכין לילד של אבי חמוץ לפני העיקרון ומינו חומוס לאבי לאחר המינונים.
En: The kitchen decided to prepare pickles for my father's child before the principle and appointed hummus for my father after the doses.

He: ולכן, מתנצלים מראש בשם המסעדה לבעית ההבלגה הזו.
En: Therefore, we apologize in advance on behalf of the restaurant for this inconvenience.

He: למרות זאת, האוכל היה טעים מאוד ואבי והמשפחה נהנו מסעודה ארוכה ונעימה ללא חשיבות לבעיה הזו.
En: Nevertheless, the food was very tasty and my father and the family enjoyed a long and pleasant meal regardless of this problem.

He: מה שלמדנו מהסיפור הזה, הוא שזה חשוב להפנים ולדבר בקול ברור כדי להיות בטוחים שזה מה שאנחנו מבקשים.
En: What we learned from this story, is that it is important to internalize and speak with a clear voice to be sure that this is what we are asking for.

He: אם אנחנו לא בטוחים, יש לנו אפשרות תמיד לתאר את האוכל שאנחנו מתכוונים להזמין, כדי להיות בטוחים שזה מה שנקבל.
En: If we are not sure, we always have the option to describe the food we intend to order, to be sure that this is what we will receive.
