En: The noise of the generators, a continuous muffled hum, penetrated the space.
El: Ο Κώστας, με τα μάτια σφιγμένα, έπαιρνε βαθιές ανάσες.
En: O Kostas, with eyes tightly shut, took deep breaths.
El: Βρισκόταν σε ένα υπόγειο καταφύγιο.
En: He was in an underground shelter.
El: Οι τοίχοι του ήταν κρύοι και ντυμένοι με γκρι βαφή.
En: Its walls were cold and dressed in gray paint.
El: Ήταν λίγο πριν από το καλοκαίρι του νότιου ημισφαιρίου και η δροσιά του χώρου τονίωνε τη νευρικότητά του.
