He: החרוסת על החזה של דוד התמלאה בעידון כאשר הגיע לשוק הכרמל. הצמחייה העמוסה, ריחות הפירות המתוקים והתבלינים החריפים שברחו מהדוכנים סחפו את דמעותיו. ממזרחו הגיעה שרה, עינייה מבריקות מתחת למשקפי השמש. על פניה טולעל חיוך מרושע. מהדרום נפשלה יעל, מושכת אחריה תיק גדול מהדמיו. נעשה רעש, שוק הכרמל הנושא תרוממה.
En: The pottery on David's chest was filled with excitement as he arrived at the Carmel Market. The crowded vegetation, the sweet fruit smells, and the spicy herbs that escaped from the stalls engulfed his senses. From the east came Sarah, her eyes shining beneath sunglasses. A mischievous smile played on her face. From the south came Yael, carrying a large bag on her shoulder. A commotion ensued, as the Carmel Market buzzed with activity.

He: הם שלשתם התקבצו ליד מעיין של ריחות דוושי פלאפל. הו, הריחות! ירקות, תהלים, כוסברה, פיתה, חימוץ, כולם נישאים באוויר השוק החם, מתמזגים לכדי אזח מתוק. המוכר, ראשו כולו אף, שרק לפיתה מינויות של סלסלה שלם של טעמים.
En: The three of them gathered next to a fountain of falafel scents. Oh, the scents! Vegetables, chickpeas, parsley, pita, pickles, all wafting in the hot market air, mingling into a sweet haze. The vendor, with a white headscarf covering his nose, deftly prepared falafel with a medley of flavors.

He: "מה תקנו לי היום?" הוא שאל, חיוך רמה מניח את המראה.
En: "What will you buy for me today?" he asked, a sly smile on his face.

He: דוד קפץ קדימה. "מתקנה לי פלאפל עם הכל, ידידי."
En: David jumped forward. "Prepare me a falafel with everything, my friend."

He: "וכמה זה יעלה?" יעל שאלה, מרימה גבה.
En: "And how much will that cost?" Yael asked, raising an eyebrow.

He: ראש האף עשה בית ספר. "20 ש"ח, גברתי."
En: The vendor cleared his throat. "20 shekels, madam."

He: "20 ש"ח?!" שרה צעקה. "אנחנו בשוק, לא במסעדה מפונפנת!"
En: "20 shekels?!" Sarah exclaimed. "We are in the market, not a fancy restaurant!"

He: "אבל המרכיבים שלנו הכי איכותיים..." ראש האף החל להתהסס.
En: "But our ingredients are of the highest quality..." the vendor started to reply.

He: דוד, שרה ויעל הפנימו את המתח, קבעו עיניים במוכר. התחילה משא ומתן שלסטיסטיקאי היה מסתכל עליה בצער נעור.
En: David, Sarah, and Yael exchanged glances, confronting the vendor. A negotiation began, as the stoic statistician looked on with slight amusement.

He: לסוף, ראש האף נאנק, אך הקול שלו נשמע חזק וברור. "טוב, טוב. 15 ש"ח לכל אחד מכם. אבל רק היום!"
En: Finally, the vendor relented, his voice strong and clear. "Alright, alright. 15 shekels each for all of you. But only for today!"

He: החיוך של שרה התרחב, דוד הצפיץ בתיקו להשלמה ויעל נשענה מרווחת על הדוכן. הם ניצחו, מחפשים נפשם בפלאפל הלסתי את האוויר החם של שוק הכרמל.
En: Sarah's smile widened, David reached into his bag for payment, and Yael leaned comfortably on the stall. They had won, finding solace in the falafel that sparked the warm air of the Carmel Market.

He: ראש האף מחא כפיים, מרוצה ממה קרה. "כמה מהנה שוק הכרמל," הוא אמר, מרים קול "פלאפל לכולם רק ב15 ש"ח!"
En: The vendor clapped his hands, content with the outcome. "What a delightful Carmel Market," he said, raising his voice, "falafel for everyone at just 15 shekels!"

En: And so, gradually, the cluster of strollers became friends, swaying in the air, about to burst into peals of laughter with Sarah, David, and Yael. In their eyes - the Carmel Market, and falafel for 15 shekels. In his eyes - a long line of buyers. A short story of Tel Aviv.
