Story Transcript:

He: ההתרגשות בחטיבת הביניים הייתה גדולה.
En: The excitement in middle school was immense.

He: השיעורים הסתיימו, והבוגרים היו עסוקים בהכנות לנשף הסיום.
En: Classes had ended, and the seniors were busy preparing for the graduation dance.

He: הגעתי עם נועה לחנות בגדים בעיר כדי למצוא את השמלה המושלמת לנשף.
En: I arrived with Noa at a clothing store in the city to find the perfect dress for the dance.

He: נועה, תמיד עם חיוך על הפנים, התקרבה אליי.
En: @Noa, always with a smile on her face, approached me.

He: "זה היום שלך, ארי," היא אמרה בשקט.
En: "It's your day, Ari," she said quietly.

He: אבל בפנים, הרגשתי לחוצה.
En: But inside, I felt nervous.

He: החנות הייתה הומה אדם.
En: The store was bustling with people.

En: "Noa, I don't know what to choose," I uttered a word of despair.

En: "Try this one," Noa suggested, holding a shiny green dress that was different from anything I had imagined.

He: "Gleaming" בערה לי בעיניים כשמדדתי אותה.
En: "Gleaming" burned in my eyes as I tried it on.

He: התבוננתי במראה, ונועה חייכה אליי מאחוריי.
En: I looked in the mirror, and Noa smiled at me from behind.

He: "זו את," אמרה.
En: "It's you," she said.

He: משהו בפנים הרשה לי להאמין לה.
En: Something inside allowed me to believe her.

He: השמלה הזאת נתנה לי ביטחון שלא הכרתי.
En: This dress gave me a confidence I hadn't known before.

En: I paid for the dress and we left the store.

En: The street was filled with the daylight of late spring, and I felt light and happy.

He: "תודה, נועה," אמרתי בהקלה.
En: "Thank you, Noa," I said with relief.

En: "Sometimes you really have to listen to friends."

He: "בדרכנו הביתה, ידעתי שלמדתי משהו חדש.
En: On our way home, I knew I had learned something new.

En: To trust others.

He: הבנתי שכשאני מקבלת עזרה, אני יכולה להיות פגיעה ולהיות אמיצה, וזו התחושה הכי נפלאה בעולם.
En: I realized that when I accept help, I can be vulnerable and brave, and it's the most wonderful feeling in the world.
