En: Bringing it back to his lips, he smiled at Giovanni, encouraging him to continue the hunt.

En: Giovanni, however, launched himself headlong into the crowd in a feat of dexterity, racing like a tornado towards his finish line.

En: Tourists of various nationalities threw themselves into the chaos with determined looks, as if the fate of that one ice cream was inextricably linked to their happiness.

En: One after another, they tried to leap into the air like clumsy imitations of hopeful acrobats, in a convulsive and amusing dance.

En: However, like all things that have an end, the flying ice cream crouched closer to the ground.

En: Giovanni, now close to his prey, dropped onto the hard ground of the square and held out a hand to grab that last piece of ice cream.

En: Everyone was amazed, as if the mystery of that ancestral ice cream had finally been cleared up.

En: The ice cream was gone, but their connection and the joy of that day remained alive in their hearts.

En: As the sun sank below the horizon, the last rays played with the shadows of the statues on Piazza Navona.
