He: השמש החורפית בירושלים זרחה על שוק מחנה יהודה.
En: The winter sun in Yerushalayim shone on the Shuk Mahane Yehuda.

He: אוויר קריר, מלא בריח תבלינים וניחוח סופגניות.
En: A cool air, filled with the scent of spices and the smell of sufganiyot.

He: אבי הלך בין דוכנים, מחפש את המתנה המושלמת לחנוכה.
En: Avi walked between stalls, searching for the perfect gift for Chanukah.

He: "איך אני אמצא משהו מיוחד בתקציב שלי?
En: "How am I going to find something special within my budget?"

He: " חשב אבי בליבו.
En: Avi thought to himself.

He: הוא רצה להפתיע את הוריו ואחותו יעל במשהו שיביע כמה הוא אוהב אותם.
En: He wanted to surprise his parents and his sister, Yael, with something that would express how much he loved them.

He: יעל צעדה לצד אבי, מתלהבת מכל דבר שנראה בחנויות: "תראה את החנוכייה הזו," היא הצביעה בהתרגשות.
En: Yael walked beside Avi, excited about everything she saw in the stores: "Look at this chanukiah," she pointed out with excitement.

He: אבל אבי היסס.
En: But Avi hesitated.
