Do you feel like there are "people" in your head that tell you what you should be doing, must be doing, or else?
Do you feel like others are watching or scrutinizing you?
When you go to make a decision or do a thing, do you find yourself evaluating if it is the "right" thing to do or find yourself fixated on what others may think or feel about it?
Do you feel like you don't have a right to make choices for yourself, but instead should be following a rule?
These are expressions of internalize oppression of your personal authority. This is typically injected into your mind and body through "being obedient".
You see, obedience is the idea that we must conform our behaviors to a set of regulations and rules set by a supposed authority outside ourselves.
This is often how schools, family, and social systems work. Obedience is paired with fear and threats. That is where obedience gets its "power".
IN codependency, obedience becomes the avenue for gaining a sense of acceptance, inclusion, approval, and safety. This comes at the cost of our personal power, autonomy, and really knowing ourselves.
Obedience becomes a power trap, keeping you conforming to others in exchange for your vital needs of inclusion and love.

Breaking Obedience Practice v1:
Step One: Build awareness of the obedience impulse. Use the PAO tool here: https://pao.freetheself.com
Step Two: When you're aware of the obedience impulse, acknowledge it. "Ah, I see. I feel like I have to obey. What would I do if I trusted, just a bit, in my own authority to direct my actions?"
Step Three: Acknowledge the answer to that and do it. Observe and record the results.
