Story Transcript:

He: השווקים של ירושלים תמיד מלאים חיים.
En: The markets of Yerushalayim are always full of life.

He: אנשים קונים, מוכרים, וריחות חנוכה אופפים את הרחובות.
En: People are buying, selling, and the scents of Chanukah envelop the streets.

He: אליאור הולך בין הדוכנים, ראשו מלא זיכרונות מהעבר.
En: Elior walks among the stalls, his head filled with memories from the past.

He: הוא לא גר בירושלים כבר שנים רבות, והרגש שישיבתו כאן זרה לו.
En: He hasn't lived in Yerushalayim for many years, and the feeling of being here is foreign to him.

He: בזמן שאליאור עומד מול הדוכן עם סופגניות חמות, הוא רואה את נועה ותמר מתקרבות.
En: As Elior stands in front of a stall with hot sufganiyot, he sees Noa and Tamar approaching.

He: נועה היא אחותו הצעירה, המעשית והישירה.
En: Noa is his younger, practical, and straightforward sister.

He: תמר היא בת הדודה המסתורית והכובשת שלהם.
En: Tamar is their mysterious and captivating cousin.

En: After a long stay abroad, Tamar is also in the city.

He: לפתע, אליאור מרגיש משב רוח קר.
En: Suddenly, Elior feels a cold breeze.

En: He knew there was tension between them and that both experienced their differences.

He: תמר התבוננה ולרגע הציעה, "אולי כדאי לאפות סופגניות יחד, כמו שעשינו בילדות.
En: Tamar observed and suggested for a moment, "Maybe we should bake sufganiyot together, like we did in childhood."

He: "זה נתן לאליאור רעיון.
En: This gave Elior an idea.

He: הוא חישב להציע להם מפגש קטן, לארגן חגיגת חנוכה בשוק.
En: He considered proposing a small gathering, organizing a Chanukah celebration in the market.

En: He caught sight of all the beauty in the holiday: the scents, the lights, the colors.

He: האירוע באותו ערב היה פשוט וצנוע.
En: The event that evening was simple and modest.

He: הם התכנסו ליד דוכן מאפים עם כל מה שצריך למנה טובה: סופגניות טריות, לביבות וזהרורי חג.
En: They gathered around a pastry stall with everything needed for a good meal: fresh sufganiyot, levivot, and holiday decorations.

He: החרדה היתה באוויר, אך כדורי האור והריח החם של הלביבות חיזקו את הרוח.
En: There was anxiety in the air, but the balls of light and the warm smell of the levivot lifted the spirit.

He: כשהם החלו להדליק את הנרות, משהו השתנה.
En: As they began to light the candles, something changed.

En: The soft light, the scent, and the warmth broke the ice.
