Story Transcript:

He: במרכז הרותח של תל אביב, בלב שדרות רוטשילד המוארת, נפרצה קבוצת חברים לפינה השקטה של בית הקפה "התיקון".
En: In the boiling center of Tel Aviv, in the heart of Rothschild Boulevard illuminated, a group of friends broke into the quiet corner of the cafe "HaTikun".

He: למדי גילוי העניין החדש, הקבוצה נשבה באידיא, מסביב לשולחן העגול, רעש העיר הגדולה מתזנק כמו חללה בתוך אקדח.
En: With the discovery of the new interest, the group sat in awe, around the round table, as the noise of the big city bounced like a bullet in a gun.

He: אלי, בעל הצחוק המזוגג, כבר פתח את הדאנס: "יש לי אחד מעולה", קרח הסוס, "מי אתה חושב שאתה, ספר שורשים?
En: Eli, with his twisted laughter, already started the dance: "I've got a great one," he said, breaking the ice, "who do you think you are, a book of roots?"

He: " מאיה, האחוזה בצחוק צח, השיבה: "פחות מך, אני ספר שורה".
En: Maya, bursting with laughter, replied, "Less than you, I'm a poem book."

He: בעידן המחשבים, אף אחד לא התרשם.
En: In the age of computers, no one was impressed.

He: אבל הצחוק נשבר כמו גל שנפצע, וכולם התעלפו קצת.
En: But the laughter broke like a wounded wave, and everyone floated a little.

He: השעונים התמשכו, והמשחקים החריפו.
En: The hours continued and the games intensified.

He: הבדיחות הפכו לגרילה, וכל זמן קצת היה מחויב לנקד את המעין היבש של השולחן.

He: אף אחד לא רשאי לעזוב את השולחן לפני שתהיה לו בראשו בדיחה מושלמת.
En: No one was allowed to leave the table before having a perfect joke in mind.

He: אך כאשר הלילה הגיעה לנקודת שיאה, מהות המשחק גילתה את טעמה המר.
En: But when the night reached its peak, the essence of the game revealed its bitter taste.

He: אלי, שהתחיל בביטחון עצמי, נשאר עם ראש ריק.
En: Eli, who started with confidence, was left empty-headed.

He: מאיה, בת החיוך הנצחי, התחילה למהור הורה.
En: Maya, with her eternal smile, started to hesitate.

He: אחד החברים שאל אותו בערך הדקות: "אתה מאמין בתיירות?
En: One of the friends asked him about tourists: "Do you believe in tourism?"

He: " אלי השיב: "כן, יש לי יד מיושנת".
En: Eli replied, "Yes, I have an ancient hand."

He: האוויר שחרר, מאיה שמה את פניה על שולחן, ואמרה בקול רך: "אני רק אגלוז כמה מילים".
En: The air was tense, Maya put her face on the table, and said softly, "I just want to say a few words."

He: את השולחן חפה שקט, החברים התסכלו אחד בשני והן הבנו שהמאמצים להתנסח במילים הגלו אשם חברתי גדול יותר.
En: The table fell silent, the friends looked at each other, and they realized that the efforts to express themselves in words revealed a larger social guilt.

He: בהתקשרות משותפת, הם התכנסו למעגל, נתנו ידיים, ולא אמרו מילה.

He: וימי המשחקים הפגישו סוף רחוק ושלט של כמה מילים אשר מקנה להם מבט מוכלל בחוויות החיים: לא צריך לנסות להתעלות על האחרים, אלא לנסות לגשת אל האחרים ולהיות בתוך הקבוצה.
