He: בשוק מחנה יהודה בירושלים, האוויר היה מלא בניחוחות של תבלינים צבעוניים.
En: In the Machane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem, the air was filled with the aromas of colorful spices.

He: הקולות של ההתמקחות בין הסוחרים ללקוחות התערבבו עם שאריית האנרגיה החגיגית של חג הסוכות שזה עתה עבר.
En: The sounds of bargaining between the vendors and the customers mixed with the leftover festive energy of the recently passed Sukkot.

He: עמי, ליאור ושירה הלכו בין הדוכנים, ותוך כדי, עמי לא הפסיק להתפעל מהעושר והצבעוניות סביבם.
En: Ami, Lior, and Shira walked among the stalls, and meanwhile, Ami couldn't stop being impressed by the richness and vibrancy around them.

He: הוא רצה להרשים את חבריו, ליאור ושירה, בכישוריו במשא ומתן.
En: He wanted to impress his friends, Lior and Shira, with his bargaining skills.

He: עמי נעצר ליד דוכן תבלינים.
En: Ami stopped by a spice stall.

He: "תראו את זה," הוא אמר בקול בטוח.
En: "Look at this," he said confidently.

He: "אני אצליח לקבל מחיר מעולה.
En: "I'll manage to get a great price."

He: " ליאור גלגל את עיניו, ושירה צחקה בעדינות.
En: Lior rolled his eyes, and Shira laughed gently.

He: עמי התחיל לדבר עם המוכר, אך במקום להצביע על הקינמון או הכורכום, הוא התחיל לנסות להתמקח על קישוט צבעוני שתלוי מעל הדוכן.
En: Ami started talking to the vendor, but instead of pointing out the cinnamon or turmeric, he began trying to negotiate over a colorful decoration hanging above the stall.

He: המוכר הביט בו בהפתעה.
En: The vendor looked at him in surprise.

He: "זה לא למכירה," הוא אמר, מנסה להסביר.
En: "That's not for sale," he said, trying to explain.

En: But Ami wasn't listening and kept going.

En: He used every bargaining trick he knew, and Lior and Shira tried to hint to him gently that the decoration wasn't for sale.

En: After a few embarrassing minutes, with a wide smile on his face, Ami realized his mistake.

En: He felt he should have listened better.

He: "אוי, סליחה!
En: "Oh, sorry!"

En: Ami, Lior, and Shira burst out laughing, and together they left with a small bag of spices and a bit of shame.

He: מאותו רגע, עמי למד לצחוק על עצמו ולהקשיב טוב יותר לשירה וליאור.
En: From that moment, Ami learned to laugh at himself and to listen better to Shira and Lior.
