Story Transcript:

He: משעות אחה"צ המוקדמות, דוד נוסע בכלכליתו הפורשת על חשף תל אביב, העיר לא מפסיקה להתפשט, לצאת מהעור.
En: From the early afternoon hours, David was driving in his old car along the bustling streets of Tel Aviv, the city that never stops expanding, breaking out of its skin.

He: הערים הגבוהות, הסיניות המצללות, הפאבים והחתולים הרחובות.
En: The tall buildings, the mysterious alleys, the pubs and the stray cats.

He: הכל מתרגש, מתמצת למסיבה.
En: Everything is in a stir, in a rush to a party.

He: למרות שהמסיבה מתחילה בעוד שעתיים,Dוד החליט למצוא חניה מראש.
En: Even though the party doesn't start for another two hours, David decided to find parking in advance.

He: היה כאן כבר מספיק כדי לדעת, תל אביב רחוקה מידיי לפעמים.
En: He knew well enough by now that Tel Aviv is sometimes too far away.

He: הוא נוסע מחניון אל חניון, משללת לשללת - עד שנתקע ברחובות הסואנים.
En: He drives from one parking lot to another, searching - until he gets stuck in the narrow streets.

He: אבל החניות נתפסו, נעימות.
En: But the parking spots were taken, pleasant as they may be.

He: דוד חיכה.
En: David waited.

He: בידו מחזיק מסיכה, בעיניו מביט רחק.
En: He held a mask in his hand, gazing into the distance.

He: הרעש נהיה שקט.
En: The noise turned quiet.

He: הזמן מתרומם, נשאר תלוי מעל המכוניות החונות.
En: Time stood still, hanging above the parked cars.

He: מראה את ההתרסה של העיר, את החיים שמחכים לו בערב, מעבר לאורח החיים הן.
En: He sees the excitement of the city, the life waiting for him in the evening, beyond the ordinary life.

He: והזמן עבר.
En: And time passed.

He: אך אז, במזל, חניית רכב נפנתה.
En: But then, luckily, a car pulled out of a parking spot.

He: כאל מוחם הגיב דוד, רץ לדפוק את הראש של הזמן.
En: Like a hot potato, David reacted, rushing to tempt fate.

He: אך השנייה יצאה ממנו ברוח, אותו החניית נתפסה קודם.
En: But the moment slipped away from him, the same parking spot had been taken earlier.

He: כמה שעות קופחות עברו.
En: Several restless hours passed.

He: דוד איבד את האש, אך לא את התקווה.
En: David lost his patience, but not his hope.

He: בסוף השעה השמינית, הקלקלה הפורשת שלו מצאה ניירות.
En: At the end of the eighth hour, his clunky old car found its papers.

He: הוא הצליח לעבור את הקישור המתאים, למצוא את החנייה.
En: He managed to navigate the correct turn, finding the parking spot.

He: פתאום, הערים התרעממו, החיים חזרו לטוויסט שלהם, החתולים לזמר שלהם.
En: Suddenly, the streets roared back to life, the life returned to its twisted tempo, the cats to their serenade.

He: דוד יצא מהמכונית.
En: David got out of the car.

He: מרח את המסיכה על הפנים.
En: He put the mask on his face.

He: תל אביב המופלאה, הסוערת, הסואנית, מעכשיו הוא בפנים.
En: Tel Aviv, the marvelous, stormy, narrow city, was now right in front of him.

He: סוף החנייה, המסיבה תחיל.
En: The end of the parking saga, the beginning of the party.
