He: דוד עמד מול ראשית השדרה המפוארת שנמתחתה לכיוון נמל תל אביב.
En: David stood in front of the grand beginning of the boulevard that stretched towards the Tel Aviv port.

He: קרני השמש אחרי הצהריים ממזגות בנויות העץ הלבן, הנטושות שבין הבתים החדשים המזוגגים.
En: The sun's rays after noon mingled with the structures of the white, desolate trees between the new, congested houses.

He: הים ברקע, חושף לעתים את מלח-הנשימה שלו.
En: The sea in the background occasionally revealed its salty breath.

He: דוד, אדם שטח בלבו, לגמרי, היה מרגיש ביתי ברחובות תל אביב הם רחובות עמוסים של משמעות משלו.
En: David, a shallow man at heart, felt completely at home in the streets of Tel Aviv, streets full of his own meaning.

En: David happened to be there, at the head of the boulevard, at the exact time and place to momentarily disconnect from the commercial world that operated completely independently from the weather.

En: Tomorrow, he would remind himself to check the forecast.

He: אם דוד יכל ללמוד משהו מהאירוע הזה, זה שהחיים לא יכולים להתנהל במצורים של דקדיק, וכמה שהתכננו דברים, ימיד יהיו דברים שלא נכתבו ברשימה שלנו.
En: If David could learn anything from this event, it's that life cannot be governed by meticulous plans, and no matter how much we plan, there will always be things that are not on our list.

He: וכמה טוב שזה כך.
En: And how great that it's that way.

He: נכון שהחליפה לא תחזור להיות מה שהיא הייתה, אך הייתה לו הזמנה לחוויה שלא תשכח במהרה.
En: It's true that the outfit will never be what it was, but he had an invitation to an experience that would not be forgotten quickly.
