En: **In the Spirit of the Desert** Facing the orange light of the sunset, Eliana, Noam, and Tamar stood at the top of the ancient mountain Masada.
He: המדבר היה שטוח וסודי, מקראי כמעט.
En: The desert was flat and secretive, almost biblical.
He: הרוח נשאה עימה את ההיסטוריה של המקום והִכניסה להרגשה מיוחדת.
En: The wind carried with it the history of the place and brought with it a special feeling.
He: "אין שום סיבה לטפס על מצדה כדי לחגוג את סוכות," מלמל נועם, מקמט במצח.
En: "There is no reason to climb Masada to celebrate Sukkot," murmured Noam, furrowing his brow.
He: הוא אהב את המדבר, את ההיסטוריה, אבל לא הבין למה צריך לערבב זאת עם מסורת ישנה.
En: He loved the desert, the history, but did not understand why it needed to be mixed with an old tradition.
He: "סבא היה רוצה כך," אמרה אליאנה בתוקף.
En: "Grandpa would have wanted it this way," said Eliana firmly.

En: She kept a small piece of metal from his pocket, a gift he passed down to her after he shared his memories of World War II.

En: A sudden gust of wind blew Eliana's metal object among the ancient stones.

En: The hearts of the three siblings sank.
