Story Transcript:

He: בחורף קר וחשוך, בית החולים בשדה היה מלא קולות.
En: In the cold and dark winter, the hospital in the field was full of sounds.

He: קולות של אנשים כואבים, של רופאים וחובשים המתרוצצים.
En: Sounds of people in pain, of doctors and medics rushing around.

He: אלה היו ימים קשים.
En: These were difficult days.

He: עיתים ישבו לרגע עם עצמו, מביט סביב, מרגיש אבוד כמעט.
En: Itim would sometimes sit for a moment with himself, looking around, feeling almost lost.

He: כל אדם פה, כל פצוע היה תזכורת לטעות ההיא שלא עזבה אותו.
En: Every person here, every injured individual was a reminder of that mistake that wouldn't leave him.

He: שירה נכנסה לפתע, מחפשת את אחיה.
En: Shira suddenly entered, looking for her brother.

He: לא ראתה אותו זמן רב, אך היא ידעה שפה תמצא אותו, במקום שבו נדרשות ידיים עזרות.
En: She hadn't seen him for a long time, but she knew she would find him here, in a place where helping hands were needed.

En: He raised his head, and his breath stopped for a moment.

En: It was a moment of disaster and joy.

He: המצב היה לחוץ, הפציעות רבות והמשאבים היו מוגבלים.
En: The situation was tense, the injuries numerous, and the resources limited.

He: עיתים, שהיה חייב לבצע החלטות מהירות, מצא עצמו בכאב גדול בהחלטותיו.
En: Itim, who had to make quick decisions, found himself in great pain over his decisions.

He: האם להשתמש במעט החומרים שיש כדי להציל את האדם שלפניו, או להשאיר משהו לאחרים?
En: Should he use the few materials available to save the person before him, or leave something for others?

En: And at that moment, Shira wanted to bring up the painful issue between them, but she understood she had to wait.

He: ההתמקדות חייבת להיות בעבודה.
En: The focus had to be on the work.

En: When a temporary structure collapsed, another severely injured person was brought before them.

En: The situation in the operating room was critical.

En: As the temporary structure faded, it needed all possible help.

En: Shira, despite the fears and angers, stepped into the role of a medic.

En: They worked as a perfect team, without saying another word.

En: Their hands operated in full coordination, and in their hearts, there was a renewed understanding.

He: לבסוף, החיים ניצלו.
En: Finally, a life was saved.

He: נשימה עמוקה פעלה על השניים.
En: A deep breath enveloped the two of them.

He: עיתים הביט בשירה ואמר, "תודה.
En: Itim looked at Shira and said, "Thank you."

He: " שירה חייכה, זו היתה התחלה.
En: Shira smiled; it was a beginning.

He: ביניהם לא היו צריכים לומר הרבה.
En: They didn't need to say much.
