He: דלת הכניסה לדירה נפתחה באחת הלילות החמות של קיץ תל אביב, מלאה ברוח ממוזגת ורעש.
En: The entrance door to the apartment swung open on one of the hot summer nights in Tel Aviv, filled with a cool breeze and noise.

He: את השקט של הרחוב השקט שרוע מתחת לחלון, החליפה מוזיקה רקועה וקולות המשיחים ומצחיקים זה בזה.
En: The quiet of the quiet street beneath the window was replaced by loud music and voices overlapping humorously.

He: טליה, המארחת, אישה גבוהה וחסון האידו, הביטה במצטרף החדש שנכנס לחדר.
En: Talia, the hostess, a tall and robust woman, looked at the new arrival entering the room.

He: אבי היה בן ארבעים, עם קיבה שחרחרה עתה הולך ונדלה.

En: They told me the party starts at nine and I'm early..." Yael smiled with a knowing look.

He: "יעל חייכה עם מבט מבינה "אתה עוד לא מכיר את ה'זמן הסטנדרטי היהודי', אה?
En: "You're not familiar with the 'Jewish standard time,' huh?"

He: " היא שאלה, מעבירה לו את הבקבוק.
En: she asked, handing him the bottle.

He: אבי פתח את הבקבוק בזהירות ושק את הכוס שבידו.
En: Avi carefully opened the bottle and filled the cup in his hand.

He: "זמן סטנדרטי יהודי?
En: "Jewish standard time?"

He: " אבי שאל מפקפק, מרים את הכוס למעלה.
En: Avi asked doubtfully, raising the cup.

He: "אתה מבין שאתה בתל אביב, נכון?
En: "You do realize you're in Tel Aviv, right?"

He: " טליה שאלה, מתפשטת על הספה הנמוך.
En: Talia asked, sprawling on the low couch.

He: "שכחת שאנחנו סוף סוף מתחילים לחגוג שעה אחרי שהראשונים הולכים לישון, או שאתה רוצה שנחגוג בלי תזמורת?
En: "Did you forget that we finally start celebrating an hour after the first ones go to sleep, or do you want us to party without a band?"

He: "באותו רגע, המוזיקה החלה לנמך.
En: At that moment, the music began to fade.

He: אבי ראה את יעל מתנהלת כלפי המערכת המוזיקלית, משנה את האינטנסיביות של המוזיקה.
En: Avi saw Yael adjusting the music system, changing the intensity of the music.

En: Yael laughed.

He: אבי הוריד את ראשו, מחייך.
En: Avi lowered his head, smiling.

He: אז המוזיקה החזירה פתאום לעוצמה המלאה שלה, הכוס של אבי התמלאה מחדש.
En: Then the music suddenly returned to its full volume, Avi's cup refilled.
