Story Transcript:

El: Η μυρωδιά της Άνοιξης ήταν στον αέρα.
En: The scent of Spring was in the air.

El: Τα λευκά σπίτια της παραθαλάσσιας κοινότητας έλαμπαν κάτω από τον ήλιο, ενώ οι κήποι ήταν γεμάτοι λουλούδια.
En: The white houses of the seaside community shone under the sun, while the gardens were full of flowers.

El: Οι γείτονες είχαν συγκεντρωθεί στην ανοιχτή πλατεία για τη γιορτή του Πάσχα.
En: The neighbors had gathered in the open square for the Easter celebration.

El: Στο κέντρο της πλατείας, τα τραπέζια ήταν γεμάτα φαγητά: αρνί στη σούβλα, σαλάτες, και βέβαια γλυκά.
En: In the center of the square, the tables were loaded with food: lamb on a spit, salads, and of course, sweets.

El: Ο Θέο στεκόταν λίγο πιο μακριά, κρατώντας ένα ταψί σπανακόπιτα.
En: Theo stood a bit further away, holding a tray of spanakopita.

El: Ήταν μεσήλικας, και ο χρόνος είχε αφήσει τα σημάδια του στο πρόσωπό του, αλλά τα μάτια του έλαμπαν με μια φλόγα που αναγνώριζε τη σημασία της στιγμής.
En: He was middle-aged, and time had left its marks on his face, but his eyes shone with a flame that recognized the importance of the moment.

El: Ενώ μιλούσαν, ο Νίκος, ένας νεαρός ένοικος, ήρθε κοντά, γελώντας με μια ομάδα φίλων του.
En: As they talked, Nikos, a young resident, came over, laughing with a group of his friends.

El: "Συγγνώμη για την εισβολή, αλλά δε μπορούσαμε να μην μυρίσουμε το άρωμα!"
En: "Sorry for the intrusion, but we couldn't help but smell the aroma!"

El: είπε ο Νίκος, παίρνοντας ένα κομμάτι.
En: said Nikos, taking a piece.

El: Σε λίγο, όλο και περισσότεροι μαζεύτηκαν γύρω από το τραπέζι του Θέο.
En: Soon, more and more people gathered around Theo's table.

El: Κάποιοι τον ρωτούσαν για τη συνταγή, άλλοι τοπικές ιστορίες για το Πάσχα, και η ψυχή του γιόρταζε ξανά.
En: Some asked him for the recipe, others local stories about Easter, and his soul celebrated again.

El: Η νύχτα άρχισε να πέφτει, αλλά η πλατεία παρέμενε φωτισμένη από σειρές από λαμπιόνια που έλαμπαν σαν αστέρια.
En: Night began to fall, but the square remained lit by strings of lights shining like stars.
