Story Transcript:

He: "בשדרות המרכז של תל אביב, לצד ספריית העיר העמוסה, נצמד הדוכן הקטן של דוד. פלאפל'ד, הרקיע לו שם, היווה נקודת לקחים לכל מחפש נאות באותו הלילה החום של ערב הקיץ. אך אותו ערב, החמישי בתור, היה שונה. המנורה מעל הקאונטר הדליקה אור מאזרח חום-צהוב, והפלאפל, שאמור היה להקפיץ מנגנון קטן כחומוס חמים מתוך כד המים הרותחים, נותר רדום וחסר חיים."
En: In the central streets of Tel Aviv, next to the bustling city library, clung the small stand of David. Falafel'd, as it was called, served as a focal point for anyone seeking solace on that warm summer evening. But that particular evening, the fifth in line, was different. The lantern above the counter emitted a warm yellow glow, and the falafel, supposed to jump out of a small mechanism like hot hummus from a steaming pot of water, remained dormant and lifeless.

He: "דוד נמצא בתוך הכאוס, המזיע גולות. ראשית הלילה היא השיא של הזמנים, וללא הפלאפל לא הייתה לו אונייה להפליג. במולו, מכונת החומוס הנפוצה ממטר מרושע. סביבו, רובע משוקמת של תל אביב נראתה כמו הבמה לפער הגדול מידי שלו."
En: David found himself in the sweaty chaos. The beginning of the night was the peak of times, and without the falafel, he had no ship to sail. Opposite him, the popular falafel machine stood idle. Around him, the quarter of Tel Aviv looked like a stage for his own immense tragedy.

En: However, every now and then, fate behaves in unpredictable ways. Talia, the neighborhood girl whom David knew as the queen of the playground - arrived. Talia's bright skin shone in the darkness, and her eager gaze sought a new story to enchant.

En: She took the screwdriver from David and began to open the falafel machine. Another fifteen minutes, and Talia exclaimed, "I found it!" She pressed a button that released the hummus from the tube, and with a triumphant cheer and a push, brought the stand to life.

En: Quietly, Talia asked David for falafel, and they sat next to a nearby patch of grass that spread beneath the sidewalk, continuing to play out the unfolding narrative. That same night, David became the hero of the story, and his stand met its pivotal moment. But in the chance encounter from which stories were born, David became part of the concluding tale that Talia expanded.
